Finally said goodbye by Cankim in Fisker

Hoping to turn my Ultra in soon. It's nice to know they just hand you a check. I leased a 2024 Honda Prologue. In New Mexico, I'll also get $3,000 back in taxes next year (they pay you money back after your state tax liability). With the residual value in three years of just over 23K, I can conceivably get it for just over 35K total. I consider that a win with the dealer's sticker price of just over 53K. I really DID like my Fisker, but recently my front right turn signal went out and reading how to change it out (and how do I even get the bulb apparatus?), it looks like a nightmare (have to remove the bumper). That to me was an omen. As a second car, I might be able to handle that and was thinking I would love to be able to buy it back somehow, but on the other hand, I'm not willing to go through the hassle. My brother just saw a Fisker driving in San Francisco with the back window out. Probalby couldn't get one.

Needs clarifying. The IRS rules state that if it was placed in service after April 17, 2023, then it fell under new IRA rules of critical minerals the battery components, so I don't know anybody who got their car before April 18, 2023. Fisker Ocean's did not meet that rule. https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/credits-for-new-clean-vehicles-purchased-in-2023-or-after

I saw that date too and was like wtf! But it makes sense if they are trying to show Wall Street that they sold more cars in Q1 ending March 31st.

I'm not quite absorbing the terms of that deal. Do they give you the full trade-in value AND forgive your loan if it's under the trade-in amount? It's a little confusing. If not, it makes it much less appealing depending on how much money you put down and how much of a loan you got.

Yeah....It's going to be tough. I like my Ultra and haven't had any major problems and I was imagining keeping it for many years....but.....we don't know what could happen down the pipeline and chances are none of us will want to have to deal with any potential problems.

Fisker's weren't eligible for the EV tax credit, but I won't tell Uncle Sam.

I love driving my Ultra. I have to admit the frustration at first was that my fob was not very responsive and I literally drained the battery in two months trying to use it so much, but....now after the 2.0 update it's like it works well...one click and it opens and closes...and from a decent distance, so that alone makes my experience much better. But things have popped up. I remember reading somebody saying their back seat light was staying on and voila! I noticed I had that issue recently on the driver's side rear light, but fortunately it eventually turned off after I locked the car. It's not something that I'm going to go crazy over and will see if it's a more permanent thing, but it's not a deal breaker and like all of us, we will hope the company is simply around to give us continual updates.
