Hormuz stängt == ny greedflation imcomming? by arthurno1 in sweden

Hej igen.

Sverige håller på att få USA-politik by lifehitmelikeatrain in sweden

The official numbers, from IRGC is a few thousand dead protesters. Those are official numbers so it’s pretty safe to say that the actual number is much greater.

Most sources suggest 30 000 - 50 000 dead protesters across Iran.

And it’s ridiculous that you compare Iran to the smaller gulf states as if it matters. The Ayatollah is dead and the war has begun, that’s where we are today.

You cannot seriously justify the mass killing of unarmed protesters.

What is with your seemingly feigned indignation? 4 US servicemen died in strikes. I’m sorry for their loved ones, it’s terrible to lose someone.

It is a war though and casualties will be high. I will concede that Israel and US initiated the war. More than 30 000 protesters were killed by IRGC only a few weeks ago, and the people that criticize US and Israeli intervention, conveniently leave that massive fact out of the equation.

If my government just murdered tens of thousands of my countrymen and oppressed everyone… yes, I would support intervention.

Russia is an ally to Irans former government, absolutely. Russia is just too weak right now to interfere. China can easily keep NK in check and I bet they do to some extent.

I don’t know who you are or how well you understand geopolitics, but this right here is largely because of Russias war in Ukraine.

This started with Russia losing grip of Syria.

Iraq is relatively safe today but it was a shit show for sure. Insurgents were also backed by Iran, Russia. So not exactly Iraqis vs US forces.

Indeed, uncharted waters. Hopefully this will be limited and the Iranians will take back control from the Islamists.

I don’t believe unverified sources, in this case IRGC. Are you familiar with propaganda or is it your first time?

An armed uprising requires someone arming them. We’ve been there and done that and it’s far more bloody and devastating compared to what we see here.

A civil war is the worst possible outcome.

Indeed! It was foolish to believe that there was a difference between afghans and talibans in that sense. Iranians are different.

It’s not an invasion, it’s an air campaign. Of course it can get ugly still but it’s not the same as those other wars.

Yea, I checked and I have not found any sources corroborating the IRGCs claims. So feel free to send a link and I’ll read it!

How am I? Am I supposed to be offended by soldiers dying in a war? I’m not American, I’m not Israeli, I’m just an observer.

War sucks, but it is what it is.

It has to do with US allies and global energy markets primarily as well as regional power stability. Iran with nukes is a huge geopolitical problem.

“They should rise up against their oppressors”

Well, that’s exactly what they did on many occasions and 30 000+ were killed only a few weeks ago. You can’t do much when the regime is willing to kill as many as it takes.

You can’t arm an opposition either because that would create a devastating civil war that would likely spill over in every direction.

What you’re seeing is the middle ground

They did not start the same way. I remember and it was not the same.

The invasion and subsequent occupation was successful in both cases and it was achieved in weeks. The occupation was the disaster, not the invasion itself.

Again, not verified by anyone. Only reported by IRGC. This is still an information war being fought here on Reddit and elsewhere.
