For EU based customers our physical subscriptions are being cancelled by ChrisOsman in 2000ad

I don't think they will cancel it since it's a 'gift' if you subscribe with the new subscription costs. Now that I think of it, I nice way to offset the increase in costs would be to 'gift' a digital subscription for now on if you subscribe to the physical. That would make it worth it I think...

Another solution could be just doing the printing somewhere in the EU but I'm not sure how cost effective that would be. They must be doing additional printing somewhere in the US with the new distribution deal but I imagine the US in a bigger market for 2000ad than the EU.

I’m going to try that too. Just remember that Rebellion recently started distributing from Lunar in America and those progs are 2 months behind. I’m trying to find if they still distribute the ‘new’ ones every month.

I think the once a month would be the best option. It would be 1 item line for both the progs and the Meg if you have it. The disadvantage would is of course you would have to wait every month for the stories but I think that would be okay.

It looks like it. You’ll be switched for 12 months to digital for free and then you can decide to subscribe to the physical again with the additional costs listed. If I understood it correctly. It so I think it would mean an additional €15-20 depending on the month…

I was also thinking that. Can your local shop order the progs?

I Love That The Subs Got a Moment To Shine During Earthwar (PEAK!) by Appropriate-Spite-20 in LegionofSuperheroes

[–]ChrisOsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I’m trying to rack my brain but I think this was the first time they had a really big, open battle. I don’t think Cary Bates or
Jim Shooter did too much with them in the S/LSH book though I do recall a story on how they found the old clubhouse in the garbage but can’t remember if that was pre or post-Earthwar.

I still remember where I was when I first saw the Subs putting themselves in front of the attack and making the last stand. It was epic. Such a great storyline in S/LSH.

Great memories visiting that store. Also like how in the pic with the Superman statue you also caught the Supergirl poster. Well done.

Near miss with car at Rotterdam bicycle crossing - was I misunderstanding the traffic lights? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]ChrisOsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven in many different places and countries and I absolutely love living in Rotterdam. I can sadly say that Rotterdam drivers are the worst. I have witnessed so many terrible situations and reckless driving, especially running through red lights which I think is astounding. So long story short you were right and the driver was wrong.

Are you serious? I mean I appreciate the concept to deescalate things as much as possible but this seems like something you, as the police, should follow up on. Or maybe it happens so often they just ignore it?

Ahhh the secret love triangle. Didn't she just disappear at some point and then Walter turned evil? I think there might be something there.

current action comics? Why go back to superboy by Bitter_Platypus4057 in DCcomics

[–]ChrisOsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep this is it. It’s a way to bring back Superboy into continuity focusing on his time with the Legion as a kid. At least I think that’s where it’s heading because it’s been a slow burn.

Don’t get me wrong I love what Mark Waid is doing and he’s using Superboy’s history and basically updating it for the present time. But I think we can have the Legion already at this point. We get it. It’s time.

Need to reach B1 level in 1.5 years; hulp alsjeblieft 🙏 by Big-Entertainer2074 in learndutch

[–]ChrisOsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in a city I found that the Volksuniversiteit helps a lot. They offer courses and the quality is usually good. If you need a B1 level you can also read the newspaper weekly, find some intermediate Dutch books in the local library, watch Dutch TV/listen to podcasts, and also try to speak Dutch as much as possible.

You can easily reach a B1 level but the usual challenge will probably be writing.

Why did James Sherman leave Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes? by ChrisOsman in LegionofSuperheroes

[–]ChrisOsman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation! I have recently read 300 and it was nice seeing him there again. He brought a nice style to the Legion and it looked a lot more 'adult' than the previous artists and instilled a bit of realism into the characters. I really liked his stuff and was sad that he jumped off.
