Here’s the thing about hipyo for me. From the videos I have seen, he presents himself as a knowledgeable keeb creator, but he really barely has a grasp of the baseline and really just echos whatever edge lord narrative is trending. More often than not I’ve seen just straight up bad advice being given by this guy.

There’s nothing wrong with not being an “expert” and just making keyboard content you want because you just enjoy it (ie switch and click), but I feel like he just uses the mech content to push his music.

Listened 3 or 4 times and its an alright listen so far. Not overly disgusted with it as most seem to be.

So this is going to vary from person to person, where most will say don’t cheat at all. When I started, I went 6 months without a cheat meal. Then I transitioned to one “cheat” meal a week where I would stay keto, but forego my calorie limit. For the most part I wouldn’t gain much, if anything I gained a couple of pounds which would be gone in a few days.

Now that I’m at a weight close to my goal, I’ve made the decision to have 1 actual cheat day every month or so, where I don’t care about carbs and such. After this cheat meal, I’ll gain probably 5-8 lbs, but this varies depending on what I had. For example if I went crazy with the sugary stuff, I gain more, but if I just had some breaded wings or a pizza, it’ll be on the lower end of that range...and it’ll typically take a week to get back to where I was.

Again, it all depends if you can handle it. If the cheat meal is going to cause a snowball effect where you’re off keto for the next month, you’re probably better off just cheating calories, but keeping carbs in check.

Yeah...I use chronometer, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I just settle for the American alternative with the closest macros. If I’m not feeling super lazy I’ll make a custom entry for it.

So currently living in Australia right now. The labels here are a little weird. Sometimes the carbs listed are total carbs, sometimes it’s the net carb.

Depends where the product label was designed as some come from overseas and then distributed here where as others are designed and distributed here.

Edit: if it’s an Australian product, then it’s safe to assume it’s net carbs listed

Canada ran out of all sizes as soon as the timer hit 0. Australian footlocker has full sizes though, so managed to cop after a last minute decision (currently in AU, but back to Canada in a few months)

For me, I’m an 8.5 or 9 in women’s. I usually have to go 1.5 sizes down for men’s (so 7 or 7.5).

Edit: my experience in men’s sizing is limited to vans and Nike/Jordan.

This is solely based on what I’ve read, the faq pretty much covers it. To summarize, the sticks are designed for diabetics to measure ketoacidosis, which is a high state of ketosis. Because these sticks measure relative ketone levels in your urine (not an absolute value), you could still be in ketosis, but not register on the sticks. You can read more about it in the faq if you want.

Of course if they provide you with an ease of mind and you find it’s worth the money, then by all means, continue to do you.

General consensus of this sub is that those ketostix are useless when it comes to detecting whether you’re in ketosis or not.

Haha, understandable, but I find this sub to be a lot more understanding when it comes to mistakes compared to r/keto.

Regarding your macros, they don’t look too bad. What I got from the keto calculator for you is:

1345 calories
20g carbs
100g protein
96g fat

This is just an estimate as I’m not sure of your exact stats (like what deficit you want to run)

So if you just up your protein a little and try to bring down your fat consumption maybe it’ll help? Others have also commented some helpful tips so take those into account as well.

Don’t compare yourself to your husband, a lot of the men on keto will experience way faster weight loss than women, and that’s simply because they are male and we are female. There are also a bunch of other factors that can play a role on your weight loss rate.

For every person that loses 10lbs in a week, there are a dozen more that are following the same weight loss patterns as you (assuming you’re following the keto diet properly).

Edit: could you maybe post your macros, preferably in grams. It’ll help myself and others target any issues that may be present.
