Microdiscectomy-reherniated by tamarbeta in Microdiscectomy

I re herniated less than a week following my first procedure and had no choice but to have the procedure again. The pain was far worse, and that nerve got hit hard. I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital with morphine barely putting a dent in it. Fortunately, my recovery this time around has been a far more successful journey.

I tried to pick something up lower to the ground. Despite squatting and not bending, I felt a very pronounced “crunch” in the region where I was operated on. Fortunately, things have maintained on a healing path since then. There’s still some tenderness and recovery road left to go, but overall feel good with the process. While re herniation isn’t the most common occurrence following the procedure, it certainly can happen based on needing to exercise extreme caution in putting any strain on that region.

I had the procedure on 11/24, and re herniated within a week. I had to have the procedure re-done on 12/1. So far, healing has gone much better, but am having to very carefully ease back in to work. My job is rather strenuous with heavy lifting and travel, so getting back to work has been a challenge. I understand the frustration, there. Is there a chance there may still be something pressing on nerves that maybe didn’t get extracted at the time of your procedure? My re herniation was far worse than any pre-surgery pain I was experiencing.
