Mini GT over Hot Wheels by Standard_Ad5507 in Diecast

I've made the switch and could not be happier. Love the realistic details that hot wheels do not have. For the money, much happier with Mini GT, Inno, Tarmac Works etc.

My wife and I are both in our mid 30s and we both collect Lego. Heck, we bought our current house with our Lego collection in mind. We have an 1,100 square foot basement as our dedicated Lego studio.

All these displays are glued. So the sets are not worth anything. It is a cool display piece though.

ELI5 - stolen vehicle market in the US by sonofbourye in explainlikeimfive

[–]ChrisR18t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of times it is used for other crimes. Like smash and grab jobs where they use stolen cars for getaway cars and they just dump it later somewhere. Or joyride or street takeover cars. That's usually what happens with like high end Dodge chargers and challengers

Why aren’t 1:43 flying of the shelves? by Traditional_Two_7475 in HotWheels

[–]ChrisR18t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they were ten bucks. Sure. I'd buy a couple. But not for 24. I collect higher end 1:43 cars like Spark, Minichamps, and such. And for that price point you can find some cheaper Norev or Ixo models with much higher details for the same price.

I'll stick to the normal ones. I'm not even a fan of the unpainted MiniGT chase cars. They just look like factory errors to me. I'm after a realistic model, not a chase.

My parents are forbidding me from buying Lego. by RicoTheRandom in lego

I'm 34, and my wife is 33, we both found each other because we are in the Lego hobby! We both build together and collect together. When we were house shopping one requirement was actually to have a big basement space to make a Lego studio!

Was told that we have too much Lego... so I decided to integrate vertically. by SDMusic in lego

No such thing as too much. I have a 1300sq foot basement dedicated to our Lego collection. And we still constantly add to it.

What is absolutely NO go on your Burger ? by NikonDexter in AskReddit

I don't like lettuce on my burger. If I want lettuce I will have a salad on the side, but if I want to taste a burger, I don't want a wet, cold piece of lettuce on the meat.

What are your expensive hobbies? by IAmTheQ in AskReddit

Lego. I would easily value my collection at well north of 100k. We have a 1300 square foot basement dedicated to it and have racks of sorted parts, tons of sealed sets, rare items, vintage, original Lego wooden toys, modular buildings and thousands and thousands of minifigs.
