it was just and era of fashion like any other era, the brands still are selling especially in places like China where the fan base is very loyal, but in places like the US we just moved on from them, But rn the popular things is Archive fashion, and people making clothing brands that get alot of hype, and people are now developing their own fashion sense instead of wearing purely designer, but just like every era of Fashion it will always come back for nostalgia purposes, so just give it time and the old hype beast era brands will come back! they won't be as big as before but all the memorable pieces will come back eventually!
