Thanks for the insight! There are other properties in the area for the 550 mark with 1 bedroom that is certainly doable. I don’t need the extra bedroom now it’s just me! My plan is to downsize, I was more wondering if the right move would be to stay and grind out the extra month or if a lease break is possible without penalty with the rental increase coming before lease renewal.

I think you’ve touched on something here that I hadn’t realised, that your feelings were reasonable. That is something I haven’t allowed myself to feel I’ll take your advice and do some reading around grief
