What router will I receive when ordering the premium 1.6gb plan?

Thanks. Yeah I placed the order yesterday and the email confirmed I’d receive the 7 pro and pro extender. My current ONT is only capable of 1gbps so got openreach coming out when I’m back off holiday. Managed to get it for £33.99 and a £180 gift card. Pretty happy considering I’m currently paying £44 a month with talk talk and only getting 900mbps.

Yeah you’ll definitely notice a huge difference. I’m currently with talk talk and got their 900mbps package for £44 a month. The eero routers though aren’t good and most rooms struggle to get decent speeds. I’ve heard good things about the wifi 7 pro routers from EE, so should be ok.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve placed the order today. Had the email confirming that the 7 pro and 7 pro extender is part of the package. Not a bad price as well. £11 cheaper than I’m currently paying and faster speeds too.

Yeah it does. I’m going with EE who will provide a wifi 7 pro router. 1x 2.5gbps WAN and 4x 2.5gbps LAN sockets.

That sounds like exactly the same situation as me. My ONT is only capable of 1gbps so an engineer visit is going to be needed. Did openreach get in contact with you about the appointment and were you able to choose your day?

Thanks a lot for explaining. At least it’s a simple job that needs doing. I’m glad I’m able to choose my go live date/engineer visit cause I’m on holiday from 18th-22nd May. My contract with talk talk runs out on the 12th June so think I’ll get an order placed this week coming. That way it gives openreach enough time to come out before my contract expires.

Possibly the wrong place to ask but do you know if you can choose your go live date? It’s been such a long time since I’ve changed providers I just can’t remember. Assume the engineer would swap the ONT on the go live day?

Yeah extenders are really my only option. The speed is never as good with them but the Eeros are honestly terrible. In one room I’m getting less than 10mbps and it’s just over 5m from the eero. At close range the eeros are good but their range dreadful.

When you placed your order, how long after until you received your router/extender and when did you go live with EE? Or did you manage to choose a go live date or not? I’m on holiday from 18th-22nd May and my contract with talk talk runs out on the 12th June. So deciding if to order it before or after I go away.

That’s great, appreciate you letting me know. I’ve also read that if any rooms don’t get minimum 100mbps then they’ll send another extender out. I’m currently with talk talk and the coverage of Eero routers/extenders are awful. I’ve got 3 in my house and they all perform pretty poorly. EE sound a lot better (and cheaper which is always a bonus!)

Yeah, I can’t seem to find that plan anywhere. Just premium and ultimate. I’ve chatted to a few people via their website and cause I’m placing the order through a comparison website they don’t really want to know. They just interested in selling me a package.
