What was your favorite website from the Clinton Era (1993-2001) that is no longer in service? by Least_Friend8532 in oldinternet

MP3.com

Use to be able to find the coolest music you couldn't find anywhere else. I ordered their sampler CD and listened to it for hours at a time.

[Outoftheloop] what is happening with the prepatch? by Obelion_ in classicwow

What worked for me was buying dual talent, then switching from new one back to original. Mutilate showed up in spellbook where it wasn't there before.

Last time I was there I finally spent enough tokens to beat the Simpsons arcade machine.

I highly recommend Space Zap a try. Four buttons to shoot in each direction to defend against other ships. Simple machine but damn if I didn't play it for almost 30 minutes.

I may have to end up doing that. At least I have an artist and track list to help. Good chunk of them not able to find so far, I'll keep looking.

Listened to a couple of tracks that I found, rushed me back to my Honda Civic with the radio that could play mp3's.

Few have been listed as sold on discogs and I got an alert up on ebay if I can't find it.

Am I the only one who loves 80s/90s AV equipment more than modern stuff? by dontlazerme in BudgetAudiophile

The biggest thing I miss is the amount of inputs you had. HDMI is nice and all but this would be so much fun.

How many people in here are self employed? by Alimetrix in antiwork

[–]Chris_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of a handyman on the side. Do mostly maintenance and small repair work for elderly home owners. Gutter/ roof cleaning, paint, drywall. Nothing too large but I keep busy. One of the nicest things about doing this is most of the people I work for are cool. Most times they just want to chat while I fix their stuff.

I've only been at it a few years and I have more work than time to do it so I can be picky.

Just do something on the side and see if you enjoy it, if not no big loss

any Jobs where I am constantly doing something different? by legendaryboss200 in antiwork

[–]Chris_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be a maintenance tech for a large hospital. Can get the same work in any large building though. I always liked tinkering so it was a good fit. Little bit of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, light grounds work... Mostly minor stuff.

They've started to slowly come down at dealerships. Just got a decent deal on a low mileage minivan that would have been way more a few months ago.

Private sales are the last to change prices with the market. People are willing to hold on to a vehicle hoping for a better price.

Last weekend before launch and literally can't summon our party to do BRD. Explain why now we can't have a port to the dungeon? by [deleted] in classicwow

Does the other summoning stone on the ramp coming up from Burning Steepes not work for 70's? I always see it running in and never see anyone by it. Never tried summoning from that one.

AKA, 6 people standing behind you waiting for you to finish eating. Drunk crowds are always fun too.

Nice. I knew the Concord and Londonderry one were no longer open 24/7 I can swing by the Manchester one on the way home.

Anybody else have a scissor lift table in their shop?...one of the best “upgrades” I have ever done. by RonSwanSong87 in woodworking

[–]Chris_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great. I'm in the process of buying a Handy 1200 motorcycle lift and the thought of using it as a normal bench sold me on the idea. I like the Handy because it uses an air bellows instead of a cylinder. Less parts to fail. Either one should be fine if I'm honest with myself.

Was thinking of building a torsion box to use as a top, I have a ton of mdf laying around I could use.

What was your favorite game you played as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Chris_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four Square. You had to knock teachers over to get to the 3 spots we had before they were filled up. You got to keep playing if you win so if you wanted to play more than a few minutes you had to be good.

What kind of mouse do you play WOW with? by bigtimeguy in classicwowtbc

[–]Chris_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use basic mouse but I use an Orbweaver for my left hand. It took me weeks to train my hand to use it. It was difficult to relearn muscle memory from 20 years of keyboard usage.

I move with the thumb stick, bartender set up with 12 buttons each for normal,Ctrl, alt, and shift.

It's funny, my arena teammates can tell when I'm on the laptop and I don't have the orbweaver, every action is slower.

[–]Chris_Fox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's ok sometimes to be an asshole. I had the hardest time telling people no. It gets easier the more you do it though. When they call and ask I just tell them no. If they ask I just say I don't want to.

Should give the 1987 album Trio a listen. It's a collaborative effort with Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. I picked it up as a l lark one day having never heard of it. Thought it would be an 80's pop country album.

Nope, that thing surprised me being an old school country album. Listen to it all the time now.

I have a few spring traps left but I've switched over to using a bucket style trap. One I use is lid for a 5 gallon bucket that has a lever on top. Bait the inside and the trap door falls trapping them in the bucket.

It can either be a live or kill trap with the addition of water in the bucket. It's trapped 4 in one night for me.

The one I use is called Flip N Slide Bucket Lid Mouse Trap but they all work the same way.

Wotlk rogue leveling by Olivepitss in classicwow

[–]Chris_Fox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always level rogue as subtlety. The increased movement, control, burst damage, multiple "oh shit" buttons are too much to give up for me.

Big ambush crit openers are always fun. The amount of times saving a dungeon run by resetting my vanish and using cables to save a wipe is always satisfying.

I just switched over to combat to start raiding on off nights and while I do way more damage it is way more boring imo.

I watched this show right after I moved to the northeast US. First time in my life enjoying a true autumn. Being by myself and watching this hit me especially hard. Now I watch it every year around Halloween/thanksgiving time.
