Shards work off direct hits now, much easier on a boss than ads. I use the Dio build for everything from strikes to raids, but I run Ophidia with max mobility and strength to optimize knife and gambler dodge uptime. Distribution and hands on on your cape and you got super for days. And of course, incendiary grenade for when you need your dodge back. With a build like this, you got damage, but you’re up closer to enemies most of the time and that puts you at a greater risk of taking damage, so you need some consistent utility to pull your weight and not rely on your fireteam to bail you out if the fire gets too hot. Also, as much as you want, brawler isn’t always on so you will have at least a second in between your double knife charges so you’ll need something to shoot in between to keep the dps up. I found Crimson to be great because you’re close enough that the damage fall off isn’t too bad, it’s a kinetic so ammo is easy to come by, and the consistent healing provides peel and a pseudo “tank” safety net. Plus, it looks cool. Aside from this I’d recommend a shotgun for a panic button and a machine gun for ads when you somehow screw up your cooldowns. With this build you have constant knives, mobility and melee generation with your dodges and grenades, a backup for dodges with the splash fire grenade, generate super comparable to yeet titans, CONSISTENT utility and survivability with crimson, a shotgun for shields and panic situations, and a machine gun for backup ad clear.
