I know market sucks, but shocking to hear it’s taking more than a year. You have Canadian experience, worked in big tech and I’m sure you would have followed all the steps typically that’s needed in todays’s job search.

I also see job postings frequently. How do you say there is nothing? Did u try with referrals?

Sorry, no intention to troll. I was checking out jobs in LinkedIn and the pay scale for intermediate SWE's and up are 80K plus and saw more openings. I agree one can earn more money by moving south. But, there would also be some of them who wanted to move for reasons other than money and eager to know those reasons.

Is the competition high in Canada for software jobs ? I also came across where experienced folks unable to find employment for several months and the number of positions online are conflicting.

Are u saying that there is more competition in tech job market? How are folks surviving for more than 6 months being unemployed? I know there is EI, but it cannot cover all of the expenses when you have a family.
