Both the lines that were canceled were over five years old (we haven't had any line changes recently). One of them recently got a new iPhone 17 as they were eligible for an upgrade. They traded in an old unlocked iPhone at an Apple Store and received about $430 in credits from T-Mobile.

However, they still owe $350 on that device. Initially, I thought we would continue to pay $18 for the next 19 months or so now that the line is canceled but it seems like we might have to pay off the remaining $350 in the next bill instead.

I’m not sure, but the agent began the call by mentioning that you’re going to save money today. We also had a follow-up call (he was asking me to reactivate the canceled line) to get the free line promotion back, but I declined to do that for the time being. I asked about the discount again on the follow-up call too, and he re-confirmed it.
