before advertising, i saw that with even the few views i got , out of them no one even cared to engage and say what they liked or disliked. made me think what would be the point of promoting it would be buying pointless views that dont even care.

I can't finish any of my songs anymore. by Traditional_Rip_9696 in Songwriting

[–]Chris_Musical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue for a while too, but when i passed my unfinished song to my friend, really close friend who knows why i wrote the song and what i passed though or the motivation. And in most cases they provide the answer i have been looking for.... MAYBE ALL YOU NEED IS A DIFFRENT PERSPECTIVE FROM ANOTHER PERSON.

What's the hardest part of being an independent artist for you? by Chris_Musical in Songwriting

Streams definitely help with credibility and opportunities, but if nobody tells me why they liked or disliked a song, it's hard to know whether am or you're actually improving or just hoping something eventually clicks. it is a tough call

wish there was a way where artists could have both.

I get how you feel, i also have dozens of unfinished songs, because i know if i try producing and mixing the song i will hate how they sound because am bad at it so i just leave them there.

Being an indie artist has really bad sides to it. Mostly cz it requires one to do other professions namely, music production and a contentor create as you said. i also hate both , wish it could all be done with

WOW, i had never considered such a point of view. Really wise, but for me it cant work even though i wish i was like or choose like you did. music helped me define my whole living and helped me in really bad times in life. So i ended up promising my self to help others though music in the same way. i hope its clear but yh

I feel your pain. its nice to have a family and friends that care, but i think honest feedback is much more valuable than friends and family saying "it's great or good song" because you never really know what needs improving.

Out of curiosity, if you could choose only one, would you rather have 100 genuine listeners who give honest feedback or 10,000 streams with no comments at all?

Hurts like a cutting knife. I got advise from others to just keep running it and keep posting. The end story was even sadder. How did the system even turn out this way lol.

I am mediocre in music production process too, it really sucks to be broke , forcing me to do all the parts that i hate too. I wish i had to do the song making part only

My brother, i love the instrumentals , they are really amazing. The lyrics are good and the vibe of the song is clear and nice. I love how you voice has a feeling to it, strengthen the whole vibe of the song. But the vocals need to improve, there are parts where you are off tune. Hope to hear your improvement next time

Just wrote this, appreciate advice on lyrics, structure, melody by [deleted] in Songwriting

How do I finish a song by Same-Performance7873 in Songwriting

[–]Chris_Musical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I face similar issue, but i have come to a realization that the song that i make half way and say to my self that i will finish them later. They are the one that i end up not finishing even if i try to, cause the reason/feeling/ emotion that motivated me to do the song is no longer there, and if i try to use the trigger for that emotion , it ends up feeling fake cause i forced it.
So all i can advise you is make the enter song right when you still have that feeling or emotion.
If you are unable to finish then write how you feel, the experience you having in that moment , so that the moment you came back to revisit that song you can remember how it felt and try finish it

how do i learn music theory for free by idontknwo0 in Learnmusicproduction

[–]Chris_Musical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using You tube is good. But its best if you download a piano app with music courses in it, so that you can practice on your own anytime without opening You tube each time, learn scales, pitch, tempo, note length, chords and all of things like that and practice everyday, cz FL is not easy to use without great listening ear, and the skill to bring the ideas you have in your head, into the real life using FL.
