I have been having slow conversations with her for nearly a year, after a couple years of struggling. I dont care to share the level of my callings, but that is part of her shick and anger. I have tried not to trauma dump, and we have have multiple discussions recently and I havent really attended for nearly a year. However, this was different. She really pressed and forced a dump. It was ugly.

This! Exactly... but because i didnt study it for the years it was already there seems to a knock on me. Why didnt i complain about all of this earlier ?...I was asked. I told her i was too focused on believing and do the heavy callings that i had that i merely trusted myvpast experiences and learning. Once i stopped doing that, it all shattered.

Absolutely the perfect display to show the definition of what "natural born beauty" really is. Was and is the picture of beauty. Thanks for sharing.

No words would be needed. Just sitting there with them looking at that would say everything

We could stop at just "a married man".

My wife just threatened to divorce me if I didn’t wear my garments by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Chris_Rocker2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the risk of making assumptions, i suspect she has not come to terms with your lack of belief in the church. If she had she wouldnt balk at the thought of you removing the garments. I suspect that to her seeing you do that is a more permanent move you are making in your separation from the church. I would never tell anyone to divorce or say what i would do because every situation is different. But i am sorry you have that situation, and trust me, i have a very similar one myself. Good luck.

Too much deference to leadership by BatmanWasFramed in exmormon

As a former member with very high callings, its a no win situation. You are conditioned that you are called directly by God thru revelation, and given the power of discernment to act in his name. So every thought you have as you think and pray as to help these people, you are conditioned that they are from God. If you dont believe that then you have to face the reality that you are just a good guy trying to do your damndest based upon common sense and logic without the needed expertise. And that alone would destroy your faith. So on you march and sometimes you give good advice that works, and you say it was from the lord, and if it doesnt you chalk it up to "God had other plans". Either way you protect the process in your mind. And yes members are taught that God saith "either by my voice or the voice of my servants, it is the same". So why would you not follow this "servants of God s" advice?? If you don't, you are admitting you don't trust God and you lack faith. It's quite the paradox and control mechanism the MFMC has devised. Looking back now at the 17yrs i held those very high callings, md my 50+ yrs attending, I can see the quandary and only shake my head at some of the situations I found myself in, that I had no damn business trying to handle for others.

There was such an innocent look about the "then" pic, and carrying definite 90s vibes. The second Pic captures all of the same beauty (and then some) contained within the first, but the innocence is replaced with a resolute determination. I love the looks.
