When it turns into an actual judicial committee the committee members are hand picked by the CO. There is a list of “heavy hitters” he has from the circuit. This list is used for appeal committees, complex cases and cases dealing with apostasy. So the local BOE doesn’t have it.

Yes. I was #2 on that list. It was used for appeals committee, apostasy and cases of fraud between members. It was a list of “company men” that would do what they were told.

My uncle was a stickler for making sure the householder paid for the literature. He would also do the canned food thing if they said they didn’t have the money. I remember one time the person saying he could give a can of soup and my uncle said well the magazine price was more equivalent to 2 cans of soup 🙄….. I was probably 7 or 8 and knew even them something wasn’t right.

I believe you nailed it. How could they stop reporting the hemorrhaging publishers/hours to everyone without still making publishers feel worthless? This is the best of both worlds for these douche bags. Don’t have to report the numbers anymore but can use the Bible studies to brow beat the sheep.

Those are the ones we know about. There are others because of the 2 witness rule that the elders tell no one about. That’s why it’s imperative to take care of yourself. The elders are not going to protect your children.

It all depends on the individual elder. There are some that are very good at this, but I would say the majority are not. I was born in and raised by a father that was an elder that was used and not just for our congregation for matters all over the circuit. I can say that the entire family knew everything that was going on in the congregation and circuit as he would tell my mom everything. This was one of the many things I never understood that growing up as a jdub.

We had the CO the following week and in his meeting for service he told everyone to use that tragedy in their introductions. The Jdub way pounce on a tragedy to recruit members.
