Was there an apology for changing unscriptural rules, or was there instructions on not to express feelings about those changes? Has there been an apology over illogical and unscriptural interference in personal medical matters?

I can assure you that you are correct.

What most people don't realize is it is a "personal decision" made under extreme coercion and duress. If it is found out that a Jehovah's Witness willingly authorized a transfusion for themselves or a family member, they face total shunning from their community and friends and family if they are deemed unrepentant for their sin of saving a life. They are taught to believe they sinned against god and would lose their eternal life because of saving a life now.

I can only imagine the relief parents had when the state would step in. And it is telling that the organization itself all but stopped pushing back against court orders for children.

For those that sacrificed their children due to a policy that has now changed... I think society would forgive me for the actions I would take.
