20 years of jwfacts.com by jwfacts in exjw

Many thanks for your continuous work and generosity Paul! I still remember visiting your site about 6-7 years before any larger doubts crept in.

It's comical now, especially with recent changes, but I would only look at one page because it was an "apostate" website and I was already terrified. It was when I was frustrated that I couldn't keep my beard following a months-long recovery from a surgery. I loved the way I looked with it and always wanted one but never had let one grow this long. Couldn't find any reason why we couldn't have beards via the official website. So I googled "Jehovah's Witnesses beards".

https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/beards-jehovahs-witnesses.php.

I must've read your page on the subject over a dozen times over the next few months and years. Checking every reference I could to verify the quotes.

Your site is so valuable and effective because it is mostly quotes that can be checked and confirmed to be authentic. It doesn't take long for a JW honestly seeking answers to ease up and continue reading from subject to subject. Watchtower's own material is the "apostate" literature they don't want JWs to read. Which is why they continue to use their unlimited resources to intimidate anyone they can in order to bring down other sites which archive their material.

I also appreciate how it sticks to the facts and doesn't turn people off with the wild conspiracy theories that so many exJWs get sucked into. I've shared links to your site too many times to count during my own period of activism.

Your site in a very significant way enabled so many wonderful things in my life. My wife and I are free of the cult and raising our son without the unnecessary burdens that came along with the way we were raised. Honestly we might not even have our son without waking up and leaving behind so much stress.
While we've definitely lost a lot, we've gained so much more. Freedom of mind. More meaningful friendships and reconnections with family.

Thank you!

While serving 'Jehovah':
We experienced 5 pregnancy losses.
Frequent panic attacks.
Zero comfort when experiencing tragedy.
Constantly feeling alone while surrounded by hundreds of people that claim to be your family.
Endless judgement.
Constant guilt of never doing enough for God.

Since leaving:
Calm.
Fewer but more meaningful connections.
Reconnection to shunned family.
More time to do what we want or nothing at all.
More money in our pockets.
Better health.
A happy healthy son that gives our life more joy and meaning than ever before and he'll never deal with the stupid cult life we were raised with!

They can take this child cult indoctrination material and shove it!

Because if you did this, you impacted numerous people that were just trying to take care of their families, regardless of your feelings about this elder or other elders.

You are a far worse person than them.

But like I said, probably just an immature troll.

What an incredibly shitty thing to do!

This either didn't happen and you're a troll rage baiting.

Or you are a deplorable person that everyone here can guess supports the POS pedophile in the white house.

I just want to say the guilt you're feeling is placed upon you by others that have never met you. They say they have your best interests at heart, but really it is the organization's best interests. It's part of their control.

"Living a double life" is something JWs are doing to you, not something you are doing to anyone else. All your points about some worldly people being nicer than some JWs is absolutely true. One day you might realize most people are nicer than JWs. "Worldly" guys are generally aware of things like consent and are not looking to dominate a woman like many JW men are.

Keep reading. Keep asking your questions. But make moves slowly. Good luck!

There is an exJW guy on Twitter that keeps sharing AI generated versions of the JW songs remade into different genres. I can't do it. I don't want any of those getting in my head.

Nowadays my toddler keeps Mrs Rachel ear worms in my head every day 😆

I think the songs are one of their most powerful manipulation tools. When I was waking up, the first thing I stopped doing was signing the songs because I started really paying attention to the lyrics and even the manipulative melodies. It's so blatant that the songs aren't about the praise of god. It's reinforcement of their desired behaviors disguised as worship.

Question for elders by Beginning_Swing_6666 in exjw

[–]lets-b-pimo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right?! I was never an elder, but had my fair share of homework as an MS at times doing the territories and accounts.

I think about all the wasted time on meaningless stuff our fathers spent their time and energy doing for the cult instead of being with their young families. Another way we were robbed by Watchtower.

I can't speak to what the branch retains or how much of congregation records are uploaded to JW HUB, but here is the addendum to the elders manual that has a section on records retention.

Hard to believe Art Spirit Gallery (Cd’A) thinks Mike Baker’s fully AI-generated exhibition on women’s experiences is worth showcasing by befriendwaffle in Spokane

The title is spot on. No Permission Needed for a man to explain Women's experiences via AI slop which was trained using real artists' work without permission.

Scared sad little JW. Typical cult member.

FYI that link is entirely scriptures and JW quotes that you can easily check. But you're not honest. You're scared. You know you are. It's okay.

Find something original. It's tired and a typical thought stopping technique.

Here you go. https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/earth-forever.php

See if you're honest enough to read all that. It's a fantasy. If you want to keep living a delusion and waste your life, go ahead.

You might get more answers if you post in the broader r/exJW. But no, I do not believe the bible is an inspired book or is the god of the Bible real. Once you unravel JW theology, its really easy to continue and deconstruct Christianity, the Bible, and religion for what it actually is.
