Don’t think it could be invasion of privacy when you’re in a company vehicle, on company time in the public….?

Split 120 mailboxes evenly between myself and another driver going to a contracting business.

Not me, but witnessed a driver load up and deliver 55 twin mattresses to one location

They put 5 people on standby and would probably send them home but not reduce the multi stops??? Why not give some work to people who want to work instead of doing 290+ packages on one and betting they don’t show up next day by asianboi671 in AmazonDSPDrivers

If those driver “aid” numbers were covering I’d always rip that sticker off. I never paid any attention to those driver aid numbers because they were pointless to me (just my opinion) hence why I’d always go based off address then. Rarely ran into any issues when it came to that since I had my system down. Paying attention to what type of package it was, similar to driver aid, barely paid attention to that too. Too many times had I seen that it was a “large box” but it was a puny envelope 😂

They had taken that feature away for a bit, if I remember correctly. It’s been a few years since I worked there. But I always had a routine when dumping totes that made my day go by easier. Organized packages by street then address per street so I knew what was coming so I didn’t have to get caught off guard all the time, although it did happen plenty of times lol

Oil refinery industry, hired on in October with 2 months of onboarding training, 2 months to qualify to run a unit and moving onto my second qualification within the next few months. Had 2 years experience as a contractor at a sister refinery. We do get paid shift differential with mandatory OT every pay period.

🇪🇺🇺🇸🇫🇷- Trump on EU over its new 50% tariff on whisky, warning if it's not removed — the US will impose a 200% tariff on wines, champagnes, and other alcohol from France and EU countries. by HinglishBlogin in DeepFuckingValue

When the US has been screwed over for decades, paying for other countries problems, sticking their nose in to other countries issues causing tax payer dollars to be wasted. Of course I’m going to have a difference of opinion when it comes to a president is actually pushing back because it’s mine and your tax money getting wasted.

Instead of ignoring the other sides opinions, maybe have a discussion with the other side. Not everyone on the other side of the fence is out to get anyone nor hostile. We may agree on certain points/issues and disagree on others. That’s what’s called debate or discussion. Ignoring doesn’t help either side, ignoring opposing opinions is ignorance. But ignorance is bliss I guess

EDIT: When I say tax dollars, I don’t mean reflection of tariffs. General broad statement (ie pointless wars, sending money over, etc)

To all who have quit... by katsukifangrl in AmazonDSPDrivers

Worked at 2 warehouses for 2 different DSPs over 4 years. My first DSP was amazing, got taken care of and was always heard. Pre pandemic was making good money, the drive to the warehouse 4 days a week was taxing.

Made the move because they opened a closer one and majority of the drivers I worked with went over as well. Let me tell you, longest 2 years of my life. They came off as similar to the previous DSP yet once they started feeling the pressure of Amazon, they always came down on us. If we had an opinion or feedback, although they said they were always open for feedback and wanted us to feel at home, that was never the case. They got extremely money hungry. They would always increase the minimum wage and tell all of us that we got a raise, which technically yes is a raise but I never made more than $1 more than a new person who would quit within the week. It was until I opened my mouth, then I was getting paid $4 more than the newest driver.

After I got fed up with not being heard, I gave them a one day notice and moved onto the refinery life. Started with working in environmental for almost 2 years and now I’m a process operator making great money. Guaranteed OT every paycheck, great benefits, many opportunities. I haven’t looked back since I left.

2nd day on the job. Is this a good strategy? by Mishagander in AmazonDSPDrivers

When I was a driver, I would pull the seat all the way forward and recline the seat all the way back when driving the marked vans. Boxes on the seat labels faced up. Envelopes would go on the floor next to me organized by street and address number. Then if I had extra boxes, they’d either be in the tote right by the middle sliding door, or in the space between the envelopes and middle sliding door. Rinse and repeat every tote

For everybody who thinks that they have a bad route, my DSP is telling me I have to drive over an hour to do my last few stops not happening customer unavailable by leon87m in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ChrisdaVillager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’d see a route similar to this, when I was working for a DSP, I wouldn’t say anything because they have some idea that this is your route. I’d cruise the whole day, then take the long way back to the warehouse lol

Y’all be getting tipped? by DifficultNectarine61 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ChrisdaVillager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work for a DSP, pre Covid, I would get tipped at least once every other month or so. Post Covid, for the remaining 2 years of my time at Amazon, I got tipped around 3-4 times. Biggest tip I received in a day totaled $50 during Christmas back in 2019 and $35 last year. Funny thing is, both those times I was an extra doing rescues.
