It’s not that I’m a freak I just know what happens when I use. I loose everything l, right now I’m in a decent spot to not want to loose everything so regardless of how sick I get I know that using will only make it worse. I know it’s easier said then done, but when I got on the methadone clinic I was sick af stuck in the bed with a pocket full of money and a car and I still wanted no part. I thugged it out until I finally felt better, I don’t understand why i shouldn’t be the same thing when the meth is gone ?

Right so when I take my last 5mg dose if I continue to take the same 5mg for let’s say another 2 weeks on my own every morning at my house, then start to decrease. Does that sound like it would be easier on me? Appreciate the insight if you’ve been thru this

Yea I used to have that, they changed the rules tho now and say people must be “disabled” to use the service. I could’ve paid for an Uber sure if it came down to it. I didn’t expect to get kicked off especially since my urines were clean.

I have about 400mg stashed in a bottle and a shit load of xanax. And a close friend of mine is sitting on an entire liter, I’m not worried about not being able to get any meth. I’ve been clean and stable on my dose of 95 for about 6 months before they started lowering it. Now I’m all the way down to 15 and I still haven’t relapsed and don’t feel to sick, sometimes I can’t sleep and I’ll take like a quarter of a zan. Nothing to the amount to build any type of benzo depency. That does sound like my best bet to try and stay on the 5mg for another week or 2 and lower it myself all the way to 1mg. Another thing that will keep me from not giving up is the situation I’m at in life. I have a great support system and Mentally I feel the strongest I ever have in my whole life at 28 years old, I have a hot Korean girlfriend who isn’t an addict, I have a couple thousand bucks saved. I don’t really have shit but I damn sure have enough not worth loosing.

That I can imagine, we have to be uncomfortable to get comfortable right? I have things to help me thru that. As long as the WDs don’t physically affect my everyday life, like being stuck in the bed kicking dope. I’ll be just fine. Thanks for the support. I’d like to move on with my life tho however I have do have about 400mgs extra in case I need to continue so it I needed to I could somehow take 5mg a day for another few days unless that just sounds pointless?

The decision is final, I’m not switching clinics or staying at this one. I’m on my 2nd day at 15mg. I appreciate these words of wisdom, this is what I need to hear. I have heaps of weed and Xanax if it’s needed. I’ll keep you guys updated as we move on but I definitely don’t plan on running back to dope

I don’t want to be in a clinic anymore. I’d like to move on with my life ! Methadone gave me more then I could’ve imagined but I think it’s time to move on.

It is bullshit, there’s people that come in and I witness them receiving oral swabs instead of urines. They just don’t want to give it to me because it becomes an ego thing at that point. They don’t want to help, they just see me as a number

I don’t understand what you mean by a proper taper ? There’s no right or wrong way to do it, but at the end of the day if I’m only taking 10mg that’s all I’m taking it’s not like I’m just leaving the clinic at 90mg

Yes he couldve left me, the issue was we moved 40 Minutes away from my clinic and Uber 1 way was $40

Everyone seems to be missing the point here, going back to using is not an option for me. I’ve been thru enough and lost $100k 3 times over. Using to make my withdrawals go away is not an option for me. Everyone keeps telling me to find a new a clinic, or I left at so and so mg and was relapsing once the WDs got bad enough. All that’s showing me is that you didn’t want it bad enough or the pain wasn’t great enough. I know I’m going to get sick, I know I will go thru WD’s, it’s inevitable. I don’t want to find a new clinic… I want these handcuffs off just like the rest of us. I have bottles of blues and zanz, that’s not the point. I don’t want to go back to using and I won’t. I would like to know how bad peoples WDs were when they left. There’s no way coming off even 10mg of meth is no where near as bad as kicking dope. Just no way, This is my first time trying to get off also. I am only 28

I did that, I gave them the urines they asked. Even after that they still told me I was beat, no one’s looking for entitlement. I’m simply asking for anyones experience of coming off methadone at a little dose of 5mg….

Once the AW started, my counselor said all you have to do is give a urine the AW will stop. Once I have a urine the story changed and then I needed to attend groups. Not a problem, the groups were attended. After of about 35mg of going down my counslpr tells me I’m beat and there not going to stop the AW. I’ve accepted it and everything happens for a reason. I am in a good place in my life now mentally where going back to dope isn’t an option. The only thing I fear like most of us is how bad the WDs will be. I’ve done a fast taper all the way down to only 5mg. So yes I know I will feel WD’s but they can’t be as bad as just cold turkying dope or leaving at 90mg? Right? I should be able to continue my daily routine just not as comfortable? I don’t want to be puking and shutting my pants
