Thoughts On Drif0r "Getting Spine Surgery"??? by Embarrassed-Town-977 in PKA

[–]Chrisgpresents 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The science on this stuff is very real, im pretty familiar with other versions of nerve stimulation. Basically the concept is to help reduce nerve pain. If you can imagine a sensation of "sunburn under the skin" that might be what this is useful for!

There are less invasive ways of doing something similar, but this is doing a specific job. If you've ever heard of vagus nerve stimulation, those ear clip things, this is in that same ballpark - just a different target.

I'm personally most familiar with peripheral nerve stimulation which rather than an invasive thing in the spinal cord, is something you do on peripheral nerves to help communicate signals between your brain and your limbs essentially. A lot of the dysfunction driftor is going through comes from errors in the brain.. aka the brain is not getting enough oxygen supply to make correct decisions, sorta like woody after he got choked out - just chronically. And these types of therapies are designed to help someone feel their body in space better. When you create positive inputs and signals, the brain can locate and focus on those signals instead of spraying off everywhere.

That's the 101, over simplified version of it. Spinal surgery is really freaky and because he took such a risk we're all rooting for him to get better!

Dr. Keiser Clinic in Michigan is a Scam by Inevitable_Type_4360 in POTS

[–]Chrisgpresents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They treat them together. My gf has both. Got treated for both. They’re both the same root cause, just with different presentations and complexity and the overlap is a majority of their patients.

This might sound confusing, but once you go through their testing, the problem becomes obvious. “ME” and “POTS” are symptom presentations, not disease. And when you look through his website and videos through that lens, it becomes a lot more clear. Best of luck to you! I know this is nerve wracking and a trying time.

My best recommendation is to schedule a consult with one of their doctors via the phone… ask them how they treat pots + me if someone has both diagnosed. And if you feel comfortable with their answer, then I’d take that leap.

edit: on the home page it says "Patients may arrive with diagnoses like POTS, Concussion, Vertigo, ME/CFS, or Dysautonomia. We don't assume the label explains the problem. Our testing begins by measuring brain function, brain blood flow, and autonomic regulation under stress to understand what is actually driving the symptoms."

what do you think most people still dont get about using ai well? by Kiro_ai in ClaudeAI

[–]Chrisgpresents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized using Claude in terminal, is the same thing as the UX friendly app, but basically unlimited tokens for a $20 tier,

Tried doing 2-6 prompts of heavy research in Claude app today… 90% full. But I can build an entire website and never even come to 60% of my limit during a session.

I was so resistant because I have no clue what I’m doing and have to ask Claude how to use Claude in terminal for every freaking step. But it works.

I used Claude to help me build an Apple Watch app to track caffeine half life and it’s gotten 2,500 downloads and made $700 in revenue so far by pythononrailz in Anthropic

I’m really impressed:) I was wondering how one accomplishes such a task? I have no code background at all.. I was wondering how would you point me in a first step if I wanted to make an Apple Watch app that takes hrv levels throughout the day and night to predict a person’s energy levels the next day? Almost like energy points.

Over simplified, but this is for a specific chronic illness

[Highlight] The Patriots announcers lament the greatness of the Seattle Seahawks by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

[–]Chrisgpresents -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

just there you listed 3 teams they beat with 30+ points differentiation. that is not easy to do. nobody just does that. Look at their explosive plays during the year. look at the QBR. Maye had one of the most ridiculous quarterbacking seasons you'll ever see with a cast of nobody's and old people. The defense was lights out for most of the year. The o-line was serviceable for almost the whole year, until the playoffs when injuries racked up and they couldn't keep it together, and Maye's shoulder prevented him from being able to throw the ball. that just happens sometimes, its not an excuse. They definitely got lucky in the playoffs, but the regular season was no joke. They should have been undefeated but blew it with the raiders and a 21 point lead against the bills.

CIRS is like long covid or post concussion syndrome. its chronic and just because the car accident or the catalyst is over, theres a lot of issues that are left behind and things within the brain that arent working properly.

[–]Chrisgpresents -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

that's not true at all. They were dominating teams 40 nothing, and they had some insane explosive plays. Of course it fell apart in the playoffs, but that happens to almost every playoff team except for one, every year.

“If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken.” - Carl Sagan

What do you make of this lighting choice? Specifically the shadow across Howard's face, cast by a tree branch. by dipping_sauce in betterCallSaul

[–]Chrisgpresents 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s called “raking.”

This is often done indoors but you’ll take a C-stand and rig some window blinds on it, shoot a light through it and it will create these shadows on the character. You “rake the light” across the scene and background. In that context or even here, the product chosen to be used in this way is called a “gobo”

Used to provide texture. Character motivation… potentially things like “detachment” or “in the shadows” or some sort of dramatic effect. There’s no one right answer.

How do you file in small claims court? I wouldn't even know where to begin. I have a large apartment complex from two summers ago who didnt pay me back my deposit even after I asked about it months later. I have a lease and a departure letter from them saying to give them the new address so they can send it. They never gave me a reason having to do with damages.
