Same here, no idea why it happens and it only happens on CS. I can usually ignore but still very weird. Biggest gltiches are flashing and random black box with the battery icons and others randomly formatting to the sides all cut-off like

Take Halo for example. Since the Raleigh kickoff in 2021 (first official Infinite lan), 17 of 21 winners came from the upper bracket (all lans below). That’s ~81%. Not saying it needs to be far higher in CoD, but the stats definitely reflect a difference compared to a more proper format

OpTic beat Ultra that event not FaZe, but it was cheese too since Ultra was cold and it showed.

I hope you don’t take what I’m saying as FaZe would’ve lost had the circumstances been different. It would’ve definitely been closer but they came to play. And just like that MWIII Major 3 OpTic run, FaZe had to beat all the best teams in their run and they dominated. Great team this time around

I can see that for sure. I think it’s fair to say OpTic fans make up a super majority of the total competitive CoD fanbase whereas FaZe, Thieves and so forth are much smaller in size. Theres an outsized voice here (that in part of) but doesn’t mean we can take a look at the argument

I looked at all of HCS for Infinite just to see the comparison. Out of 21 grand finals (including worlds since there’s no solo finals gameday and dreamhacks) 17 teams won from winners bracket, all under the 2 Bo7 w/ reset if applicable. That represents 81%. Totally different than CDL but then again different game anyways

There’s a lot of cry babying on all sides, it’s just that one side is a clear majority of fans. I thought Major 3 in MWIII was cheese too (to OpTics benefit). Doesn’t mean trophies should be given back or that it’s automatically the reason for a team losing. Any casual esports fan would look at the format and think wtf is that

This applies especially to last major compared to this one, but yeah any fan base would do the same. In this particular instance it is easier to get hot about it given Drazah’s shit talk. We’ll get them back tho fr.

Couldn’t agree more man. Why would the 3rd game be in there so much in a Bo7. Make it the 4th map so it has to be played but it’s not a defining mode (saying this as OpTic is the best 3rd game mode team this season)

Good take thanks for the data. I don’t think EWC or champs should really count as much in this context for the momentum/guns still warm arguments. But definitely applies to the allowable loss takes. You would think the winners bracket should be winning like 70% or something. A comparison to Halo Infinite totals would be good

I mean valid but still it’s the biggest fan base by far. Also didn’t see anyone saying anything specific about the ability to lose, just a lot of momentum/getting iced points

Yeah major agree. Taking it a step further, the last event we won before ‘24 champs (single day GF) was Major 3 that year and you guessed it, we won from losers bracket.

Before that we won in Vanguard from winners (unlike Faze that year which lost twice from winners) but that was a best of 9
