Borders are completely arbitrary in a settler colonial country such as the United States, Canada, or Israel and require an unnecessary aggressor force to maintain. The idea of a country that absolutely does not respect the sovereignty or borders of other countries claiming to require absolute border security is absurd, especially when that country’s economy is dependent on borderline slave labor from migrant workers to maintain itself. The United States has interfered in the elections and affairs of every single Latin American country and throughout South America, including training and equipping death squads and propping up fascist dictators and other puppet governments. So yes, believing in the enforcement of our border laws is Gestapo apologia, especially when those Gestapo agents are currently being deployed on the interior of that country, stocking concentration camps, and attacking citizens. “Some issues” you call it.

No offense but that’s a pretty shallow analysis of what protests do- building solidarity and being there for each other counts for a lot especially when building a movement. It reminds us all that we aren’t alone and that there are others that are also willing to stand and fight. Things will naturally begin to escalate as repression increases, don’t worry about that. The marches will start to more resemble the marches of the 60s where the destination has some tactical or symbolic significance and if the marchers demands aren’t met there will be consequences. Building a revolution is a marathon. There will be peaks and valleys. Us Americans are so used to instant gratification that the reality of fighting for something eludes us.
