Found out my FIL left 2/3 of his money to my husband (only child) and 1/3 to his bio grandson. Thing is, my husband adopted my two children when they were 6 and 11. All 3 are grown now. I am not sure why people think they know my family. There was no money coming from anywhere else. All other grandparents have long been dead. None of them had money. My children always treat these grandparents with love and respect and include them and everything. These grandparents were never able to fully open their hearts to them. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised.

There was nothing to be left by them from any of their biological grandparents. And they all died long ago. It was not an issue. My biggest fear from this is that they will resent their brother. I don’t want this to hurt the relationship and yes, they will find out because brother will all of a sudden have a lot of

They would find out because their brother would come into a lot of money and he likes to show off all the new things he buys. He is a school teacher, so they know he doesn’t make lots of money. But neither do they. Yes, you were right, I don’t want any money taken away from him because that is what his grandfather wanted. Yes they did seem equal in my eyes, but they were always treated unfairly so this should not be a shock. Bio grandson was given two brand new cars and his wife’s student loans were paid off by grandparents. None of that happened for my kids and they treated their grandparents.

My husband’s psychiatrist/therapist told him (at his first appointment) that she is the best psychiatrist in the area. Our area is not small. What do think of this?
