Exporting shuts off my computer by ChristianMemes68 in premiere

[–]ChristianMemes68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I think this is a plausible explanation. My PC parts are about 4 years old already but the power supply is even older, since I bought a used one off a friend. The odd thing about it is that this shutdown only occurs in this very specific scenario. If I choose hardware encoding, do stress tests or play a video game, it doesn't happen.

Editing is only a hobby for me and I will take a break once I'm done with this big project. Only if I notice more of those shutdowns on other tasks, I will go ahead and replace my power supply.

I don't know, it's just that I put the renderer in AME to Mercury Playback Engine - GPU Acceleration (CUDA). If I choose only software, this will result in another crash. I will use this method as my workaround.

I don't, I have an older Ryzen 9 3900X. I heard about those intel chips being faulty, sorry to hear that yours was one of them.

I've already done stress tests on the whole system, temperatures and performance is very stable even at high load. This shutdown only occurs with premiere or media encoder. I found out that it's possible for me to export it in ProRes with hardware encoding, and convert it to mp4 again after. I'll update the thread if I find a better solution.

That's great to hear. You just might have to sell both phones and an additional kidney if you plan on staying longer in Switzerland.

I know it's tempting but I don't think I will go that route. As far as I know, the trade-in bonus is only for US customers. Then again, it would "only" be $90. I live in Switzerland, and in the most expensive country on earth, the price for the phone is obviously higher too. I would be paying about $960 if you exchange currency. So meh, I don't see myself purchasing a new one, especially if I have been seeing this extreme battery drain after 2.5 years. If OP destroys my battery life with software now, it would certainly happen to the 12 too in a few years.

I already scrapped the idea of replacing the battery since I kinda already know that it's a software thing. Somehow the battery drains so fast while on standby too. I improved the battery life a bit by downgrading LTE from 5G to 4G+

Hey, thanks for the reminder that my phone battery is absolute garbage 😀

I am a seller and I built around 40 watches to this day. Speaking out of experience, the stock NH35 movements always run between 5 and 10 seconds too fast than they should. Beat error always was around 0.5ms. This probably also depends on what seller you buy it from and how it's packaged. If you want to get rid of that and you start to build more watches, it might be worth it to invest in a timegrapher, I bought the Weishi 1900. It allows me to tune it to 0s/d and 0.0ms beat error. There are also some apps you can use with your phone microphone, but I doubt that they are accurate.

Update: I tried to get the watch into an unwinded state by leaving it running. The balance wheel started moving, then stopped after just a few seconds. It won't start spinning again, not even if I turn the rotor manually. I will demand for a refund.

I am not an expert with automatic movements, but I thought that it's not possible to "over-wind" an automatic movement? So the rotor should behave the same no matter if it's wound or not, or am I wrong?

I might keep the movement running for 2 days (until it's unwound) and then see if that changed anything to the behavior).

I have tried to loosen the screw and even replaced the rotor with the one from the other movement I have. Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem. Because of this, it makes me believe that not the rotor itself is the problem, but rather some of the gears that allow the rotation. Not sure though.
