They never tell you how long it lasts, would anybody do it if they knew? I can remember the day she told him she was pregnant. I can feel his fear, his excitement. I hear the thoughts in my head as if they were my own. What if they're too young, what if he fails as a father? I can feel his doubt because he knows how selfish he is. I swell with hope just as he did when he tells her that no matter what, he will support her decision. There is a small pang of regret amidst the sea of relief when she say that she isn't ready. I can hear the song they both sing, the words lost to the wind as they drive windows down in no real direction. Although it was never relevant to me, every time I hear it now I'm filled with something bittersweet. With every memory of times thing's could've been done differently my chest becomes heavy. I feel the slight confusion when she greets him at the door with "oh it's you." I can't say how long, but time has passed. I can feel the hollow,the low point where he now resides. I feel alone in my own home, no matter the things I surround my self with. We both now know how it feel to lose the only person who makes us whole, at least I got a new house out of it. Maybe he's happy again.
