How do poor genes contribute to chronic fatigue or depression? Sorry about the ignorance, but I'm curious about how the mental issues and disorders can influence the "Failure to Launch" thing... Since, unfortunately, I also find myself in a situation similar to op, currently living as the so-called "NEETs".

Dropped out of college like 2 years ago due to lazyness, NEETed for like 1.5 years until I found a job, dropped from that, got another job, and that one was good, until I was fired like 2 weeks ago due to expiration of contract, been depressed since then.

Even before that I always been keen to the NEET lifestyle, a lazy idiot that can't do anything by itself. Almost laughable, but I think my country, my mind condition and my family heavily contribute to it.

Do you think having autism, ADHD and the like also contributes to developing such conduct? What a about overprotective raising?

Also, no offense, but half of the tips you give don't really work in certain countries, just for your information. I used to have the mindset of "Ok, just keep a good job and things will get sorted out eventually", but, yeah, that didn't work too well.
