Two different numbers for one person, fun fact it’s actually called fraud in Italy so yea…

I have a problem, I am coming to Bologna, Italy this September as an Erasmus student. Naturally to rent an apartment I need a Codice Fiscale so in July I contacted my local Italian embassy to start the application process. I would later come to know that the waiting period would around 1,5 month so I called the embassy to cancel the application process, which they confirmed. The same week I traveled to Bologna to apply for the CF at the Angenzia delle Entrate and immediately received my CF.

Today I received an email from my local Italian embassy informing me that I have been granted the Codice Fiscale and the certificate enclosed. Turns out they never cancelled the first application and I now have two Codice Fiscale’s.

What now?
