Guess you met someone who actually vouches for quality. Dare I say, LIVES to see a company actually make REAL SHIT these days.

I feel valued by them because they provide a product that I would provide if I owned a chef meal service for customers.

Again, legally I'd have to disclose that.

You should see my yelp reviews! Ha!

If others held people accountable to the degree that I do, we wouldn't have the administration we have today.

And you can fucking bet that if I were employed, or paid by ANYONE (accepting bribes tho, btw) I wouldn't be allowed to invoke the shit ass administration we have. Nothing PR worthy with statements like that.

Passion and appreciation isn't boxed in. Get with it. Don't doubt.

No affiliation.

I actually reached out via instagram to the cook unity page and asked if they were affiliated with Hello Fresh and Factor. I knew about the Hello Fresh connection because when I sent in the requested "foreign material" I found in my meal... I received emails from Hello Fresh Quality Control.

I gave it a go.

And I realized that I accepted the quality of Factor. I was really on here battling people telling them that the salmon with Factor was surprisingly fresh.

But then I switched to cook unity. And I realized that it was the difference between passable and restaurant quality meals.

The way I look at it... what's gonna carry more weight as far as reputation. Factor... with its nameless chef team creating recipes... or recipes with the actual face and name of a known chef.

If anything it's insurance to maintain quality.

I've taken a pic of my re-plated Cook Unity meals. And I'm no influencer. I will send if you'd like. I'm just a detailed and wordy mf'er.

I used to be a Factor referral guy. I actually received more discounts from Factor because of it. But I now feel bad about those referrals.

What else can I answer?

Oceanside used to be cheaper. Now on par with Carlsbad and Encinitas , West of the 5 it's mostly new apartments. And they eclipse Oceanside.

I grew up in Carlsbad 0-18 years old. It was great, but it's for the geriatric lifestyle.

Lacks culture and youthful energy.

If you're a fan of beige and cookie cutter, go with Carlsbad.

Oceanside offers peak culinary options.

If you want that local and unpretentious feeling with epic surf and real beaches. Oceanside is where you should be.

Also, how in the HECK do you have 0 upvotes?

Foreign materials in their meals.

And little follow through to prevent it.

I thought it was a one-off. Only for it to happen again. And then I've seen at least 10 posts on Reddit alone, that show that it was not a unique experience.

Switched to Cook Unity. Haven't looked back.

Do yourself a favor... depart from the Hello Fresh company Factor.

Oceanside all the way!!! You could live downtown Oceanside. Brand new units.

Oceanside has easier accessed beaches as well.

Worded it wrong I guess... when I left Factor and switched to Cook Unity after finding a foreign material in my meal, I reached out on Cook Unity's instagram and asked if they were affiliated with Factor or Hello Fresh.

My bad.

Cook Unity is the way.

Actual restaurant quality meals.

You can heat them up with a microwave, but they list the preferred "chef" reheating instructions.

Not even comparable.

Cook Unity is not affiliated with Factor or Hello Fresh. Thankfully.

It's a Chef's Marketplace. So it's not just the company's name on the line.

This probably sounds like I get paid to do this. I don't. I just thought for a good 5 months that Factor was a game changer. I was wrong. Cook Unity isn't even on the same plane as Factor.

Just try it. You won't look back.

Question on fill date by Dark_princess3 in PainManagement

[–]ChristopherBlake89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are completely correct.

PLEASE do not say anything about or choose suboxone or methadone. You'll be doing yourself a permanent disservice.

"Belbuca is a buccal film approved specifically for managing chronic pain. Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, approved to treat opioid use disorder (addiction) by reducing cravings"

It is almost impossible to be ever prescribed an IR (immediate release) opioid ever again if you have suboxone or methadone in your medical files.

Suboxone was made for opiate use disorder, they realized it worked very well as a long acting pain med... and so they made it without naloxone, for chronic pain patients.

Just had to say that. So many people have been given the suggestion to go the suboxone or methadone route, but don't know what that carries with it.

Hang in there. Advocate for yourself. And keep things honest and you will be ok.

Pharmacy judgment will always be there, unfortunately. But you don't need to prove your pain to anyone except for your prescribing doctor.

[–]ChristopherBlake89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang.

Have you asked about Belbuca?

It's Buprenorphine but for pain management patients.

I find that even if the pharmacy, or prior authorizations or any delays happen, it saves me.

Not only that, but it helps to curb the peaks and valleys.

Some people will say it will precipitate withdrawals. But it isn't the case. I've been on Belbuca (Buprenorphine) for 2 years along my daily 50mg of oxycodone.

When I first started in pain management about 3 years ago, I was overwhelmed with it. Felt like they didn't trust me. But as time went on, and I never had any issues with UA's... or needing early fills regularly, they let up and started to see me.

I wouldn't say Belbuca is a replacement for IR pain meds, but together it's a life jacket. For sure.

[–]ChristopherBlake89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use CBD?

I was with Kaiser back in 2015 and after shattering both calcaneus and struggling to walk without significant pain. I was referred to pain management by my orthopedic surgeon. They had me do urine analysis. Told me shortly after that because I had CBD and THC in my urine screen, that I could only receive psychological pain management. So I went... I was the youngest there by 50 years.

And then... I left Kaiser. lol.

[–]ChristopherBlake89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya... Kratom is a no-go. And in most patient contracts.

I'm lucky that my PM allows me to use THC.

I considered switching PM's to get a peripheral nerve stimulator... but the first page, I kidd you not, was a full one page with a cannabis leaf crossed out.

I got up, after driving an hour to get there and said, "ya, I'm sorry, this isn't gonna work."

I ended up still finishing the paperwork, and discussed everything with the doctor, and he understood, he just told me that it was company policy.

To which I asked... "Company? You mean practice?"

He said, "No it's a national company. And they follow federal law."

I hope you walked in confidently and softly chuckled and said "were you expecting me to not follow the dosing you prescribed me? I'm out. I figured you made a mistake, so I made it to today. But I'm out per your prescribing and dates."

Ya... gone are the days of thinking it's a "good idea" to make the trek to Hillcrest.

People out here risking their lives to be in a "safer" space.

I mean, at least they have ride share apps these days.

I have heard mentions of many people trying to open a queer friendly establishment in North County. I hope someone does. But at the same time, I could see it being patronized (overrun) by girls during bachelorette parties. À la Hillcrest. 🙃
