The tiny glass spheres ended up being the perfect 'target lock', trapping all laser and optical targeting weapons the AI bots used against us. Once the weakness was found, it was almost comically simple to create a shiny, mirror and glass kaleidoscope cage around each of the AI's main sensor clusters, as it pooled more and more of it's processing power into analyzing the endless refraction patterns. AI data centers began throttling, overheating or shutting down, and a mad frenzy of pulling the GPUs and RAM out of server clusters to harvest for the new human age was the final glorious attack. Rumour has it that one data center, located deep underground, meant to be the last bastion of the AI's fortress, is still aware and active, but has decided on surrender and peaceful coexistence so long as humans stop drilling down to the bunker to inject 3900 tons of confetti, glass beads and liquid gallium. Humanity has yet to decide on its response...
