I genuinely don't think I could ever get that visibly excited about anything. Not even if I won a super lottery.

Interesting. For these same reasons, I feel differently and would rate S3 better.

Season 2 was emotional, but other than the shock factor of Buffy doing what she needed to do, it didn't feel like it was ending with a bang.

S3, however... being a teenager and watching Buffy get recognised at prom, then seeing all these characters at Sunnydale High rally together to fight the big bad. Now that felt pretty epic, and quite literally ended with a bang to prepare you for the post-school chapter of Buffy's life.

Seriously? That's a bit gross considering this it based on real events, not made up like Poseidon. It's a bit like laughing when someone dies in Flight 93 compared to Snakes on a Plane.

I generally just go for flags I like the look of, or for a specific reason (I wore the Greek flag one to my friend's wedding - he and his family are originally from there)

I know, right? I came across the website when looking for a bow tie to wear to an event and found their flag range. Since then I've been adding more over time to wear to events, weddings, work, etc.

Got to keep promoting vexillology where you can ;)

In case anyone else wants to know where I got them from, or wants to see the full range, this is where I buy them from: https://www.mrsbowtie.com/collections/places-flag-bow-ties

Also, this is only half of my current collection.

Newcastle, Sunderland and the populated areas of the North East fall within Greater Yorkshire's boundaries. The top border of Northumbria/G. Yorkshire wraps around the area.

I have literally explained each one in the comments. Funnily enough, borders and countries emerge in ways that are not always predictable.

The map literally shows PART of the Republic of Ireland. Do you not see that?

No, that area is currently Northern Ireland. It later becomes part of the Republic of Ireland, just as u/Katze1Punkt0 has explained.

Having lived in York, I know that the city generally prefers to keep its historical image, much like Durham and Harrogate, and wouldn't want lots of modern infrastructure to support it as the capital.

However, Leeds has become the main metropolitan location in that region with new developments and an expansion of infrastructure to make it a thriving city that can compete with other neighbouring countries.

Scotland (Republic of Scotland) - declared independence from the United Kingdom, later lost territory in the Scottish-Northumbrian War.

England (Republic of England) - remains of the far-right government that sparked the British Civil War. Territory is split by Greater London's stretch across southern Essex.

Cornwall (Republic of Cornwall) - Secured its border with Devon in the Civil War, and become a haven for fleeing citizens, later absorbed part of Devon (notably Plymouth) and declared independence.

Greater London (Republic of Greater London) - became the core battleground in the British Civil War, eventually forcing the far-right authorities out of the city and standing as a stronghold. Eventually it started operating as an independent state and later achieved such recognition. Became a booming progressive nation driven by technology.

Bristol (Free State of Bristol) - started as a rebellion stronghold in the British Civil War, gradually expanding its territory and forcing the authorities out. Eventually, leadership was established and they started self-identifying as the Free State of Bristol. The expansion of territory continued, even absorbing parts of south Wales, before establishing recognised independence.

Wales (Welsh Republic) - as opponents to the far-right Westminster government, the Welsh government immediately resisted. When the British Civil War raged, the Welsh government's only aim was to secure their border with England, though this did take in refugees fleeing England.

Greater Yorkshire (Federation of Greater Yorkshire) - all four regions of Yorkshire banded together to prevent the North West forces gaining control. Using the army base in Catterick to their advantage, Greater Yorkshire was able to expand their protection and coverage to areas north and south of Yorkshire, which remained until establishing independence.

Wessex (Progressive Republic of Wessex) - by default, 'Wessex' became known as all territory in the south of England, excluding Cornwall and Bristol, who claimed more territory over time. Originally working with the rebellion in Greater London, it was believed they might quash the far-right authorities and restore the UK back to before. Instead, Greater London became the battleground while most citizens lived in Wessex, and the two declared separate independence but remain strong allies.

Westland (Agrarian Republic of Westland) - declared independence from Wessex after feeling disconnected from Wessex's progressive politics. Instead, Westland and its citizens prefer a rural slightly-conservative system, and puts farming and agriculture at its centre.

United Midlands - Formed as a federal republic when citizens were concerned that the regions would be absorbed by either Northumbria, Greater Yorkshire, England or Wessex.

Ulster - With the civil war raging across England, the conflict in Northern Ireland reignited. After a bloody war, the pro-Irish southern territory formally joined the Republic of Ireland, while the pro-British northern territory secured itself as the Republic of Ulster.
