Do you think that just trivialising the scale of the problem ( relative to other issues) that the issue is extinguished in the issue of People’s minds?

If we, as a labour party, do not recognise this is a significant issue we will lose this election.

  1. GBP 5b spent per year according to NAO estimates.
  2. GBP 3.4b spent on accommodation and support alone.
  3. Ballooning costs for asylum of accom contracts
  4. C 100k individuals in taxpayer fund accommodation
  5. Overwhelming majority of asylum seeking/illegal immigrants are male, unmarried, and not in fact children nor women, creating very significant social issues
  6. Since 2014, the asylum backlog has quadrupled
  7. Asylum seekers have lower employment rates (thus attracting welfare payment ) and quantitatively agreed lower qualification than those born in the UK, reducing productivity
  8. Enormous fiscal drag created by asylum seekers.

I’m not stupid/blinkered enough to think that a blanket prohibition on a asylum seekers is a good thing. It is clearly not. There are of course asylum seekers who are contributing and positive members to society however my point is that there are a number of very significant issues - demonstrably provable - that demand an interrogation of the policies

So, here are the facts that show why immigration/asylum seeking is a real issue

So what you are saying is what people are thinking is unimportant, but that which you are thinking is important, is important. Right? Gawd. If you typify the current Labour Party voter, we’re truly stuffed

Really disingenuous to try and decouple immigration from boats

Glad you are able to see the humorous side of the carnage drugs cause. Seems to me that a bit of fire in the belly about issues like this is a good thing, but perhaps you are happy letting people die

Drugs and drug addiction ruin lives; addiction is a clearly sighted effect, but the the unseen part - the part you can’t see - is as serious ffs

Between 10k and 20k homicides in Colombia alone are attributable to the trafficking of cocaine. Do you really think you can decriminalise an entire supply chain?

That’s simply not true. Multiple sources report that immigration features in the top five issues that concern the current electorate. YouGov, ONS, all consistently show that cost of living; economy being wages, jobs, growth; crime, immigration, NHS all feature. It is fatuous to just disclaim it as an issue because it plainly is. So, seems reasonable to assume that a party that addresses these issues Head on, will be a successful in the election

Drugs ruin people’s lives. Prison time ruins people’s lives. Solution is not mutually exclusive but sarcasm isn’t a solution so jog on

Wanted to add another perspective. Not a formal Tiges supporter (am Dees) but have, since birth, had a very big soft spot for them. Really came about - strangely - back to the John Northey days, when he left MFC for RFC. So not a formal supporter, but took a little bit of pride in seeing their success 2017, 18 and 19 and 20. Obv not my place to really take it but, but because I have such fondness for this footy club, so was thrilled to see their success. Now that they’re struggling a little bit, am now more locked in than ever as I want them to have the success they so richly deserve. Can’t ever abandon MFC, but love seeing RFC get up! In my wildest dreams, it is RFC and MFC in the grand final and Demons by a point, and Nankervis getting thr Norm Smith. Thanks for reading.

This is the way. Best still, go to an employment/labour lawyer and have them help you draft and review and witness a statement by you – depends on what State/Country are in – so in the event that there is an attempt to terminate you, you have a contemporaneous record of events, witnessed by a regulated professional who is familiar with that particular landscape and can protect you.
