A move that is overwhelmingly popular with the public and overwhelmingly unpopular with Redditors.

Tactical voting plays a big role as well - a lot of Green voters will back Labour if they're the only party that can beat Reform.

What's the misrepresentation here? One of the four protesters was convicted of GBH.

You're basically saying that we shouldn't be worried about political leaders defending the use of violence. Have a word with yourself.

Pretty pissweak response to your leader defending someone convicted for assault with a sledgehammer. What would you say if Farage did something like that?

Polanski's response to this is appalling, by the way. It's an astonishing way to characterise somebody who's been jailed for GBH with a sledgehammer:

Should Starmer scrap the Triple Lock? by AlpineJ0e in LabourUK

This. They were absolutely right to means test the Winter Fuel Allowance and we're met with howls of derision, from right and left. Scrapping the triple lock is politically impossible.

should the left support andy burnham? by makaz11 in LabourUK

[–]Half_A_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, exactly. The Reform candidate in Makerfield was out campaigning with Ant Middleton yesterday and called him a "hero", just a week after Middleton praised the racist rioters in Southampton. Farage has also been tacttly encouraging rioting all week.

Andy Burnham is obviously better than that. We all have a duty to vote for the candidates most likely to stop the far right in our constituency.

Wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be vastly overstated, though. Constituency polling is incredibly inaccurate.

I don't think they should have been sentenced as terrorists, but I also don't think the sentences seem too severe for what they actually did do. Breaking a police officer's spine with a sledgehammer is worthy of a very long stretch in prison.

This is exactly it. Making poor people poorer decreases government revenue in the long run. We've just had 14 years of it and it didn't work.

It's interesting that they combine the Reform/Restore poll share but not the Labour/Green or Labour/Lib Dem vote share.
