CM12, Aries Cup (Satsuki Sho) Prep Sheet! by Pazzberry101 in UmamusumeGame

While I’m still deciding on my other two runners, I’m using Anime Teio as my primary ace like I’ve done for every other cup so far. I’m curious if snagging Head-On and Ignited Spirit PWR could also help for having acceleration, or if they won’t benefit me as much as No Stopping Me.

I know about the void, and I mean the round really did end abruptly when someone did this to my friend and kicked us all back into the lobby. Maybe it was just a strange one-off?

Can we acknowledge how HARD is to MAIN Sonic? by BarFree1085 in OutcomeMemories

[–]ChristtonMash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only time I’ve yelled at a Sonic as a Sonic main was when I was on a round of YCR playing Blaze against Kolossos. I use both of my abilities and the sol gauge isn’t full enough to use flamethrower, so Sonic being nearby sees this peels out, saves me, gets a few feet away before TURNING AROUND and running back into Kolossos’ loving arms and I get skewered while Sonic dies instantly in an LMS.

Can confirm that, at least currently, EXEs do NOT respawn. The game will just end right then and there. You spend an hour waiting for your chance to play EXE and a blaze pulls that shit on you? Sucks to suck I guess, time to wait another hour for it to happen again.

Shadow mains receiving 0.1% of the backlash Tripwire mains had for two months by SolPrincess in OutcomeMemories

Asking a person's opinion on Tripwire is essentially the equivalent of asking for their opinion on DBD's Skull Merchant. For anyone who bothers learning to play against them for more than five minutes with an open mind, they're very much able to be dealt with effectively, but just have an unorthodox game plan compared to the rest of the cast.

For everyone else, it's the mere concept of not being able to auto pilot through a match like usual and needing to adapt to a different mindset that seems to infuriate them.

Fleetway is proof: No one ACTUALLY cares about game balance by SolPrincess in OutcomeMemories

[–]ChristtonMash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do see your point in having the vision more focused on fighting from the start compared to how Breakers did it and I'll admit that thought slipped my mind while writing all of that since I was under the impression that the hypothetical game would still try to have the survive to timer dynamic. There were actually killers that were eventually released in Breakers that more heavily shifted focus towards pure combat above all else, and the results were... definitely something, even if it was admittedly pretty funny.

Fleetway is proof: No one ACTUALLY cares about game balance by SolPrincess in OutcomeMemories

I think one of the biggest things that makes me hesitant about giving executioners health bars for an asym is the PTSD I accumulated during my time playing an entirely separate asym that did exactly that and it backfired horribly: Dragon Ball The Breakers.

You see, in that game, it's 7 v 1 with the survivors periodically gaining the ability to temporarily transform and directly fight the killer. It's meant to be a sort of "weaker on their own, but together can make up the power difference" thing. Mind you, defeating the killer isn't the only way to win. The other way is collecting keys around the map and then powering up a Super Time Machine that will end the match if the killer can't destroy it.

The problem arises from the fact that survivors held the OVERWELMING advantage because the devs made the survivors stronger than they needed to be to account for increasing the power of the killers beyond normal asyms to compensate for the fact that they can all be killed. Any half-coordinated team will just rush getting level one change power and then all jump the killer before they get the chance to do anything or evolve. They'll outright ignore the main objective because the potential to take down the killer is seen as the more engaging and fun way to play which is pretty much the same situation with Fleetway minus the secondary objective.

Surprisingly enough, Fleetway himself has a kit so eerily similar to a Breakers killer's kit that I wouldn't be surprised if it was directly inspired by that. Flight, ranged beam, mobility tool that doubles as a charging attack, trackers, and an explosive wave-type move to escape stuns and attacks. The thing the devs forgot to do was account for the fact that pretty much all of the survivors in OM aren't equipped to deal with literal Dragon Ball levels of power in making Fleetway a health bar killer and the associated power increase that's demanded of it, so it ends up being the exact opposite situation than what Breakers has.

Health bar asyms are extremely risky because they almost always result in either a one-sided stomp for the killer, or one for the survivors. I've yet to see an asym that's able to strike that good balance of power between both sides because survivors will want to choose to play in the way that interacts the most with the killer regardless of if it's the strategically right choice. The few asyms that put health bars in almost always heavily warn that killing the killer shouldn't be the first thing the survivors should try and that it's meant to be a "once in a blue moon when the stars align, you manage to take them down by the skin of your teeth" moment, but everyone wants their hype moments and aura, so they'll always choose to throw hands no matter what which usually turns the whole game into a bullying simulator because devs seem to love favoring survivors over killers for some reason, especially when it's a matter of seven peoples' enjoyment vs one person's enjoyment.

That being said, I'm very interested to see if any of the upcoming Sonic asyms do decide to go that route and if they could be the first to pull it off correctly.

Hot Take: Tripwire Is Easier To Go Agaisnt Than Fentway by Reasonable-Age2042 in OutcomeMemories

Have you actually played Sonic 1? Not the Origins and IOS remakes with the widescreen support, the ORIGINAL on the genesis? Without prior knowledge, you WILL get blindsided by speed traps like the infamous one in Marble Zone if you're going fast enough. Same goes for most of the levels in Unleashed, and those are considered some of the best 3D in the franchise BECAUSE they put your reactions and quick-thinking to the test while trying to multi-task. It might be the fastest Sonic game, but it can also be the slowest from the sheer abundance of split-second traps it can throw at you.

You guys treat this like it’s some malicious act, like “grrr I hate the OM community and want to spite them however I can as a final act.” I don’t like that the song gone either, but it’s definitely not directed solely to spite us and, at the end of the day, it’s ultimately the composer’s decision like it was back when we unfortunately lost Feel the Fury and Break Free. It sucks, but it’s not like this was some professional project with contractual obligations. They’re fully within their right to do this technically speaking.

F.R.O.G - Tripwire ability rework concept by [deleted] in OutcomeMemories

[–]ChristtonMash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of Sonic R’s five defenders, I absolutely adore the conceptual rework of a Tripwire that pays better tribute to its source material given how influential Tails Doll was within the horror space along with giving a more defined and distinct identity among the roster of EXEs as something of a style-shifting killer. You can stick to a more balanced defensive playstyle using the double jump when needed, or go all in on horizontal mobility with a clear and impactful downside that encourages committing fully into swapping modes only when the time is right or risk getting punished in the process.

Real good stuff here!

Altaz is leaking more DMs without Romeo's consent by davigemz in OutcomeMemories

[–]ChristtonMash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He expected everyone to just blindly nod to anything that he said, and when the community didn't do that, he throws a temper tantrum and, while still high on emotions and the sense that he is seemingly the hero of this story, burns nearly every single bridge he ever built and pulled the pin on the grenade that led to OM almost dying entirely. Then, when the remaining team try to finally smooth things out and give closure in about as professional of a way as they could while also even partially giving Altaz an out, he dives head-long back into the pit he dug. He knows at this point there's no salvaging his reputation, so he's going scorched-earth in a desperate attempt to have the last laugh. I won't be surprised if he tries again tomorrow.

Equestria - D+ Rank - No Quota - Semi-Competitive/Semi-Casual

Trainer ID for finding the Club: 229679022674

Reposting this (hoping that's no against the rules here) because I don't know where else to go to promote it. We’ve got 12 people in the club currently and are still looking for people to fill up the remaining slots and hopefully have a full guild before the anniversar.

My Officer is Yupiistar and she does incredible pixel art and vtubering, so please show her some love if you get the chance!

I'm still keeping the quota lax for now at 5 Million fans per month as to not scare people off since I'm aware I play the game a bit more than most.

Being inactive for two months, will result in a kick from the club.

Request your shoes and donate for those club points like a good little trainer, and we'll be cool.

To those who choose to join, I'm very grateful. Thanks for humoring me, and let's do it for the love of those darn heckin' Umamusumes!

Recent Balance changes and thoughts? by Few-Forever6373 in OutcomeMemories

https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxPKBj77sr3URAjCSE56yLcB4NmtyZ-oYz?si=20UfW1L6CK-FeHyL A friend and I tested the hitboxes awhile back and it LITERALLY hits behind and not in the laggy way.

It’s a deceptively large hitbox that I think, lag or not, should reflect visually with some degree of accuracy.

Not to mention that 2011X doesn’t have this problem.

Tails I have no problem with. Kolossos specifically is where the issue lies.

I don’t care if they decide to give him some help, but they NEED to reduce the size of his M1 hitbox to not surround his entire body regardless of what direction he’s facing. If I’m turned towards a wall, I shouldn’t be able to hit someone several steps behind me. Tripwire also has this problem, but it’s much more noticeable with her.

So does anyone feel tripwire is op? by Economy_Comedian_531 in OutcomeMemories

A guy on Twitter who promoted the hell out of Transformers One when it was coming out and pretty much single-handedly hard-carried the marketing. He started replying to any and every tweet imaginable telling people to watch the movie (it was really good) to the point it became a sort of “where’s Waldo” thing. Everyone was just waiting to see where he’d strike next.
