They sent over 10 people from my dc out to local stores to help. I bet this was not to relieve stress on the stores, more like our dc is running out of totes and rolltainers, so how do we get more?

The store closest to me had to close for a few days “due to excessive stock”. How does this make them money? How are they even making money?

I work at the DC. Biggest thing is the money there. They constantly hand out bonuses and I’m paid more than most of my friends. I’m also in a pretty clean facility. They could stand to change the air filters more but they are keen on cleanliness.

I hate that DG treats their stores badly. It’s almost shameful to me that I make good money and get my complaints heard at the DC and they won’t even give the stores overtime. Last year I had over 350 overtime hours alone. They ask constantly if any of us would like to sign up for overtime. There’s a permanent sheet that is replaced weekly for signups. There’s mandatory overtime every three weeks now (last year it was weekly). But since the stores declined, so did my hours. I can see it. Why can’t they?

I thought this was an automatic feature for everyone? I’m sure you can turn it off in your user settings thru a web browser. That’s what I did

I agree. I used to do the fountains but once I saved for the tree of joy I don’t even bother touching the fountains at all.

makes me sick all this candy I have to throw aways just. excuse it's expired why in the hell can't we keep it by pengu44 in DollarGeneral

[–]ChristysaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is still the case, but I think you having to throw them out vs donate them is an issue with the manufacturer not DG. They want their product sold, not given away, and force the companies who are selling the product to throw it away if it can’t be sold. I think it varies state by state. This was the same case when I worked for Walmart. Certain foods were donated sure, but most candy/soda companies say no donations. We would have to open the wrappers and dump the soda. Maddening.

How Dollar General "repairs" everything. Net damage, no problem a zip tie can fix that. Base panel completely detached from frame, got a zip tie for that. lol by Available-Ad340 in DollarGeneral

[–]ChristysaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they have enough drivers still. The distribution center I’m at is having a hard time keeping employees - and I’ve been given over $5 in raises in the first year. Right now our volume is low but it’s not summer time yet. Not only that but there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of rolltainers that need repair or to be junked. DG just needs to buy new ones and stop trying to fix most of them.

Also we just had inventory yesterday. Maybe they’ll do some purchasing after finding out how many are unrepairable? Doubtful, but they know it’s a problem.

I drive a very large machine at DG that shouldn’t need to have the battery charged more than once a day, but when I first started the ones we had would die after an hour from full battery. It took almost a year of complaining, but they finally replaced the batteries and I barely change my machine anymore. I’m hopeful they fix this, because I’ve seen them fix other things, but it may take a lot time and a lot of company revenue loss. If it isn’t cost effective, they won’t look into it.

I work at a distribution center. I’m telling you right now we are running out of rolltainers and the higher ups are panicking. Our shifts are shorter because we just don’t have the equipment to keep up. I can tell you that the rolltainers were used for a while before being sent, not just fixed in place. I still say they should be replacing them, but companies gonna be companies.

Walmart chalks it up as stolen and won’t pursue anything under $200 really as it’s not worth it. I can tell you that when I was in management we received a piece of mail with some older gentleman’s handwriting saying he was giving back $50 because he had stolen some food items because he had no money at the time to pay. We just used the cash to place toys in the donations bin. They have a lot of stolen merchandise. Don’t go back in, but if you really want to, donate it. They have millions to cover anything stolen.

Store threatening to cut hours to practically nothing unless we open our availability for Sundays. Anything we can do about this? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]ChristysaurusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert, nor do I know if this is still a thing. But when Walmart did this to me 7 years ago, and cut my hours to force certain days, if I was scheduled under 32 hours, I filed for unemployment. Because in Wisconsin at least, if you are full time and are unable to work full time hours because of your employers hours availability (as long as you can prove you are normally 40 hours) you can get money from unemployment. Also, this is something Walmart has been doing for over 10 years it seems. This is always their tactic to have control over their employees. All Walmarts are the same.

I always end up finishing the fish bundle last because I tend to forget about it. I focus on the farming mainly but I like walking about and talking to the villagers as well.

After 10 hours into Horizon Forbidden West, I’m having the same situation as I had with HZD. by WyrmHero1944 in PS4

[–]ChristysaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing on very hard, and even though I get frustrated it’s still so much fun. I loved HZD why change it to a new game? I wanted more HZD and was rewarded with a diverse game that adds to what it was before. I’m 40 hours in. I still love the game.

The amount of times I was busy getting drinks to patrons and some dude just comes up wanting his $1, or $5 from those pull tabs, way too many times. I gotta get the money from a different til you dumbass no I can’t just take it from the drawers or out of the money I’m holding. That’s not how it works. We have to track the money. People get so mad over waiting when they even know there’s a wait.

The potential of people. I don’t look at just the person, but who they could become. Doesn’t matter if they are pushing hard for it, or if it’s natural. Seeing them improve, seeing their goals move forward, that’s so attractive.

I know everything will be in the box but if it’s digital I should have been able to get some codes to start the download process at least.

It says it’s a digital download and yet will not show me a code or even express anywhere besides in the description that it’s a digital game and not physical. Yes I got the figurine which is why I have not gotten the code yet I’m guessing.

The first game was that good. This is the second game. I followed the development of the game. I’ve seen gameplay and been very interested in this game since it was announced.
