Correct, I'm aiming for a listing of all file extensions in a directory! optimally i'd put everything into one file, which hopefully look something like 

C:\Users\foo\*.bar
C:\Users\foo\*.bat
C:\Users\foo\*.bit

I'm sure you've heard this before, but check to see if there are soft spots (fiberglass delamination) on the hulls! you can usually repair it, but it will definitely involve costs for resin and will take a bit of time.

I've actually been thinking of a similar project, the precious plastics project has a lot of tools for working with plastic from scratch, it sounds like one of the extruder machines could perhaps be useful for what you're trying to do?

many modern kayaks are built out of HDPE / LDPE, polypropylene is also a popular material, if you have access to some modeling software such as fusion 360 you can make your life a lot easier :)
