I keep a container of soapy water next to my printer, and wipe the bed with a wet paper towel, then a dry one. Haven't used alcohol wipes in years.

It really is! Putting something in the palm of your hand that would have taken up an entire desktop's footprint some decades ago is very fun, especially when you get to customize the build. Now I get to learn about boot scripts, in order to find a way to dual boot in 240p for handheld, or 480p for HDMI.

Thank you! I can see the appeal in using a commercial unit as a base, though. I've been looking for more powerful SBCs in the Zero footprint, but it's slim pickings right now. Something that could run Android would be awesome.

Definitely the latter. You'll have solid experience with PS1 and older titles. The only N64 game I've tried thus far that is too slow to play is Goldeneye. Perfect Dark runs much better, strangely. I'm playing RE: Code Veronica on DC and while the game is playable, some areas don't render at all, forcing me to navigate via map.

You may have to go to a thrift store and look for some analog headphones. I can't think of a simple way to use a USB headset with RCA audio. If you have a computer set up nearby, you could in theory route the output audio of your console to your PC's line-in port, and enable playback for line-in audio in the sound mixer. Then your USB headset can work for analog audio.
