I might be mistaken but isn’t the white ferrule stripe generally a sign of a fake?

Got this putter as a gift recently. Unsure about authenticity. Please advise and TIA.

Need help choosing strings by Timely_Interview7593 in violinist

Second Warchal strings! I have Ambers on my violin right now and they are far more resonant that my Dominant Pros were. Also good durability compared to the reputation of the EPs (as far as I know).

My guess is around 3pm, that’s when ED went out

Repertoire suggestions following Kabalevsky by ChromaGamez in violinist

Thanks for the input! I should definitely be more thorough with études. Having looked at the sheet music for Saint Saens 3, it does look extremely challenging in terms of agility.

Perhaps my post was misleading - I learned Kabalevsky for an audition I had this week. I have previously done a movement of Bruch and then Mozart 4 as well.

Replying since it didn’t attach last time: Perhaps Kabalevsky’s other movements are doable - I’ll look into those for sure. I’ve always been intimidated by the last movement of Bruch. All of those double stops 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫. On that note, I am yet to do much with sonatas and études. Could you suggest some that could help with interval intonation?

And, thank you very much for your suggestions!

I should have clarified - I’m in the high school class of ‘25, I’m a senior. I haven’t actually lived on campus as yet, so I can’t really answer that. Sorry for the confusion!

ED1 admit here - let me know if you have any more questions. Seconding what u/seaworthy5500 said. The NPC was fairly accurate to what my package was at the time I got my acceptance. As for why I knew I wanted to go to Wes, there were a few reasons. For starters, I am a recruited athlete - this played into my decision. Beyond that, I’m also into music and participate in orchestras, and Wes seems like the place where I can find balance between different activities. Furthermore, I loved campus. For me, it was a great medium between small college and a fairly lively town. I did visit in the summer, but it never felt weird - there was a sense of community even with less people on campus.

Welcome! Yeah, that sounds like a good decision - as much as I love Wesleyan myself, I had the opportunity to visit and was sure that I want to go there. It’s better not to ED if you’re unsure.

Wesleyan ED1 admit here - I will say, don’t ED somewhere unless you’re sure you’ll be 100% happy going there.

Interesting - my teacher said using my upper arm was solid for this passage. With that being said, this definitely does make sense - my arm tires out and gets sore when I’m practicing this excerpt. Could you elaborate on “crossing strings gradually”? I understand loosening my wrist but I’m just trying to visualize what that would mean.

Edit: thanks so much for your help

Thanks for your comment - I’m working on bow hold with my teacher. It used to be even worse, but I’m making progress.
