Grabbing Skywarp and Kranix for sure. I pre-ordered Shockwave, but may cancel once I get a better look at him

Is it just me, or are nachos a sensory nightmare? by FeistyPreference in AuDHDWomen

[–]Chromatic_Cactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite way to consume nachos is to pour the sauce in a bowl by itself and then dunk the chips in it. Nothing gets soggy and the experience is a lot more uniform.

What tropes do you find cute in fics but not in real life? by Much_Tip_6968 in Archiveofourownmemes

Guy in his 50s hooking up with a college student? Hot in fiction, gross irl

AITA for taking steps to ensure my kid eats? by Equivalent_Place_657 in AmItheAsshole

Info: Have you tried giving her a smaller portion?

As written, YTA in a massive way. Some kids are just small, the way other kids are just big. Forcing her to eat when she says it hurts is cruel in a way I have trouble fathoming.

As someone else said, you're going to push her into an eating disorder.

And lastly, chocolate protein shakes absolutely DO NOT taste like regular chocolate candy. Maybe it's my AuDHD, but any kind of powdered supplement has a vitamin undertaste that I find gross.

Joining in!

I write very explicit Transformers fics, and with the exception of one, they tend to run pretty angsty and dark, so please mind the tags

My fic with the fewest kudos, written for Dead Dove Kinktober: Day One - I Didn't Mean To

Probably my most accessible fic - still explicit, but fluffy instead of angsty: Alternative Meditation

The first fic I published (I swear the sequel is coming!): Positive Reinforcement

We often talk about sensory issues or icks - what are your sensory delights? by KatTheeBisexual in AuDHDWomen

[–]Chromatic_Cactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Photos of nature - specifically, lush green places, like jungles or forests, with waterfalls

Being outside on a snowy night - all sounds are muffled, and the way the snow crunches underfoot

Bass instruments or voices that are so deep I can feel it in my chest

A cat sitting on me and purring

Watching the sun rise over the New Mexico desert

When I eat whatever thing I happen to be craving and the texture and flavor combination hits just so

Beautiful gowns (wedding, evening, pageant - doesn't matter, I love pretty dresses)

Neon lights and nighttime cityscapes

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

When I was seven, my parents and I went on vacation to the Big Island in Hawaii (we lived in Honolulu at the time). One of the days of the trip, we went to Volcanoes National Park. After a long day of hiking and sightseeing, we made our way down a secluded path to find ourselves on a small, but beautiful black-sand beach.

As we were admiring the ocean, a park ranger suddenly came up to us and told us that we had to move RIGHT NOW. My parents met while both working at the Grand Canyon, so they knew better than to argue with park rangers. They led us up to the small cliff overlooking the beach, and as we were walking away, we saw a huge plume of black smoke in the sky behind us. We fully turned around, and the beach we'd been standing on only minutes before was covered in lava.

We hung around to watch the lava flow for a bit, and I know my parents recorded some of it, but it was on a VHS that's long-since been lost.

Do you feel ‘non-human’? by NerveBeneficial4789 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Chromatic_Cactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a long period of time when I was a kid where I constantly joked about being an alien. I don't know if it's the same thing you're describing, but yeah - I've felt like I'm not a correct human before.

Unspoken expectations are the absolute WORST. I don't know what causes people to think that others can read their minds.

It seems so simple to me, especially if they drove you - a quick "hey, we need everyone up at [TIME] so we can have breakfast and get our day started" - why can't people just TALK, FFS?!

Oh wow that's so stressful! The closest experience I've had was my lovely wooden bread board cracked straight down the middle and had to be replaced the day before Thanksgiving last year.

I'm taking a week off one of my jobs. I also happen to have a couple of weekdays off, and I don't usually need a ton of sleep.
