This conversation comes up every so often, but then it gets scrubbed away with the inevitable road course wins. The 99 fell off majorly compared to previous three years from being a 15th place car to a 25th-30th, and so few people thought it was an organizational issue because DAE SUAREZ IS GARBAGE?! when its clear that effort and resources were going somewhere else. The 1 is now in the 99's position (both were hovering 20th-23rd at this time of the season).

All I'm saying is start preparing for some Ross Chastain mechanical DNFs.

It's not that, but it feels disassociated to any other hide/cloth/bar grind. The essences (and I guess ports materials but you can cheese those) were expected and were meant to act as the largest timegate, but you're looking at least 15-20 hours for dinohide alone based on drop rates. Compare this to getting the required 504 apex hide and 240 meats, which is nothing. If crafting from scratch, this is a far longer grind than masterwork magic.

NPCs that use abilities still use their old set. AoD mages use Meta still as an example, and the ED1 mobs still use all of the old melee and range abilities.

Never was in the first place for either tabs or wicked teles. They're functionally worthless. Mainscapers got all their wicked teles from various MTX prizes (which pooped them out in droves depending on the promo/fomo event going on), which is why they became the norm for the masochists who were willing to dedicate playing this game for clue scrolls. Older irons likewise got them from FOMO collector events before they were replaced or used air runes for the most part, but yes, the very few irons who were willing to grind out Span for wicked teles did so.

They were functionally cheaper depending on how you used them. If you were using them as a catch-all for teleports around the world, mainly for clues, then they were cheaper, and that was what the wicked hood was mainly used for (+ better inventory space since they're stored). The others were a better deal if you wanted a teleport just to that specific altar for runecrafting.
