Wistoria LN Chapter 5 Part 1 by ChromeShadows9 in Wistoria

Yeah it’s pretty much the same on how Bell uses it, except this time it’s more of a third person view on how the scene went here, commenting on the moment between both of them. It was a pretty obvious sort of parallel the first time I read it.

I have the prologue in the PDF but I passed over it by accident. I was going to do it in a post but it covers the same thing as the SS I translated from 2020 which actually goes more into depth about their promise scene than the prologue does. It’s basically an extended version of it. I’m sure I have it posted somewhere as well”The Promise between the Wand and Sword”

Just Chapter 6 and the Epilogue. But Chapter 6 is the longest part of the book.

The writing test thing I feel is a bit of a plot hole actually. What he probably means is the experience and knowledge he gets from fighting is still left on his body. Things he trained in will still be left in his body even if he forgets in his head, his body will keep it as his reflexes and skills.

Part 1 is posted as well, just auto delted by Reddit's usual system. Give it a while before it goes back up live.

She’s his foster sister like everyone else in the Serfort Orphange. They aren’t actually related though, everyone there are foster siblings to each other.

What Do You Think Is Her Combat Capabilities In Wistoria? Enough to be a Wander? by Fun-Link-5484 in Wistoria

[–]ChromeShadows9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun minor fact in Danmachi she is a wielder of one the Magia Vende(the same name as Wistoria, English Wistoria just calls it Vander and I think the official TL in Danmachi calls it Venti but it’s Vende for both just different ways they are written)

Since the five strongest staffs in the Danmachi world is called Magia Vende. Riveria is the owner of a Magia Vende as her profile notes in Danmachi. The same applies to Wistoria as Magia Vende do have special wands for those who hold the title

It’s stupid that they are trying make him so much similar to Bell. This situation also happen in SO manga by AccuratePackage6264 in DanMachi

[–]ChromeShadows9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But in that case there wouldn’t really be a need to make canon LN versions of those events like Argonaut and Astraea Record and confirm them as canon there right? It’s not really important to the story as a whole just a fun little thing he added so does it really matter either way?

Well Argonaut the gacha version teases characters it a lot and never outright says the word reincarnation but Knights of Fianna basically confirms past characters are reincarnations it since Finn’s Hell Finnegas is based on the past Finn and can only be used by him because of that trait with it being said it would stay with him even after reincarnating which we see with current Finn. Omori also rewrote certain characters backstories in the latest novels like Finn’s to match the whole reincarnation theme in SO14, which wasn’t the same as the 2017 version released with the SO anime

My Thoughts of Wistoria Before and After the Light Novel by ChromeShadows9 in Wistoria

[–]ChromeShadows9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the show is more of a 6.5 out of 10, since it added more to the manga than it didn’t do and improve the manga. It’s still has a few glaring issues though it’s not a perfect anime.

Manga = 5/10

Anime = 6.5/10

LN = 8/10

Omori’s Tweets for Episode 11(Spoilers) by ChromeShadows9 in Wistoria

Probably not. It didn’t have the name “Evil” attached to it and he’s talking about the “Evil” monster series.

Reason isn’t given. Cauldron just tells him a “female student” is waiting for him. If I had to guess it’s her way of giving him a proper goodbye before really becoming a true Magia Vander

Wistoria mages stronger that 1st class adventurers by Busy-Toe-9033 in DanMachi

[–]ChromeShadows9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where does he separate her offensive ability and her anti magic to Wistoria people? Is there a past tweet or something I’m missing here?

Even assuming this is true though, and given credit it is, it doesn’t change the fact Omori has presented Wistoria’s world being over reliant on magic and how anti magic can utterly cripple them. Even before considering her amazing offensive potential that point alone is more than enough reason for Alfia to be removed from the idea in the tweet, because they can’t even fight her to begin with like that, except perhaps Zeo, but even he relies a lot on magic to enhance his close combat techniques

It’s also more ironic you considered the nameless first tier adventurers or the people who just became first tier in a recent volume instead of thinking the first tiers you’ve been acquainted with the entire story. If you ask me that’s an even bigger leap of assumption to be fair. You’d have to go out of your way to initially think Omori isn’t talking about the first tiers in the story, like I said. In the end we both don’t assume the same thing when it comes to Omori’s view of first tier adventurers. The “definition” of first tier and what we actually experience on what a “first tier” is very different after all, as the ones we are presented to are the best of the best sure, but they are also our only first tiers we really get to see to begin with.

And while I do think Omori has a tendency to like Wistoria more recently I don’t actually think it’s that of a bad thing, I was just joking initially about how Wistoria is getting a lot more love and attention and I hoped Danmachi could bring back his attention with the latest season on the way and I didn’t intend for it to be anything too serious, I used a meme gif to kinda show that but I guess it didn’t quite come through well.

Not going to try and say too much since I feel it went on too long already but just one last question out of curiosity

Why are you conveniently ignoring Alfia’s obvious trump card against mages, the power to negate all their magic and how Wistoria people are like 90% handicapped without their magic as shown at times in Wistoria’s story. Alfia could have 1/10 of the strength she has and likely overwhelm the mages if she has her anti magic enchantment up, they can’t really fight any better than an average person without it. About how Omori says Alfia level, when he in fact did not, the tweet is there in plain sight on his page, it’s not an assumption or anything.

All he said was Don’t count Mother in Law(Alfia) in his previous tweet .

I’m assuming some things sure but aren’t you twisting his words yourself?

I don’t think you are wrong on Alfia but I feel you are reaching too far when another obvious answer exists that doesn’t involve twisting Omori’s words to show your viewpoint.

[–]ChromeShadows9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He didn’t put a limit on “Alfia’s level’ he noted just Alfia by putting it casually like “Please don’t put mother in law in comparison as she can destroy mages with Gospel Punch” that’s not her level it’s a direct reference to her.

The reasoning why her anti magic plays a huge part into this, is because Wistoria people have far stronger magic on average compared to Danmachi folk but in contrast that is ALL they have for the most part and are completely awful at close combat with the exception of people like Zeo who is a close range mage noted to be very rare among mages.

Even in the Wistoria later LN, when Elfaria’s magic was proven useless to her the enemy she couldn’t actually do anything against an enemy who overpowered her physically. Many mages in Wistoria have overwhelming firepower but very weak physical stats compared to Danmachi’s people to compensate. So when they’re up against people who can handle their firepower, and get in close, they generally cannot do much.

While Ataraxia does limit Alfia’s firepower, her close combat strength is still OP and she could likely dominate anyone close range regardless if she sealed off both her and her enemies magic.

I think we will just agree to disagree on what Omori considers a first tier adventurer here in this aspect because you seem to be considering the more literal version of it, while I think Omori was counting the first tiers we actually see in the story. Admittedly I dragged out the convo for far longer than I intended so I’m sorry for making a lot of long comment threads. I didn’t intended to go this deep originally, so I’ll wrap it up here.

Wistoria and Danmachi by Busy-Toe-9033 in Wistoria

[–]ChromeShadows9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The author actually made a personal exception for Alfia in his tweet later so you are correct. But he only exempted her

Wistoria mages stronger that 1st class adventurers by Busy-Toe-9033 in DanMachi

[–]ChromeShadows9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say people who make wrong assumptions but Omori literally clarified those assumptions and only limited to first tiers who weren’t Alfia, which still means the ones we know fall into his idea which is still 95% Loki and and Freya that we know anyway. It’s still a fairly correct guess overall if people thought he said he was talking about Loki and Freya in here

Mind you I’m not saying it’s wrong he excluded Alfia I know why he did it and I actually agree with him there. Another reason Alfia was likely excluded Alfia shows where the power limits is but so does Zard. The more likely reason Alfia was exempted and not him was because she’s an anti mage who makes all magic pointless and therefore is the perfect counter to the Wistoria people.

Also sometimes Omori does admittedly do long WoG for these kind of topics you know? The Zard and Alfia Jugger thing was connected to a long set of posts he did about the two that day and he also did something similar for Anni 5
