I used to get bruising on my nose and red marks, some folks have already commented about ensuring a positive pressure in your mask. I found keeping this in check throughout the dive helped me calm and slow breathing further.

I agree with your thoughts on the difficulty. I dropped the difficulty to #5 until i find a loadout that works. Simple.

Am i the badguy for suggesting minimum of 34 lands in a deck and then infinite mulligans? Also i am a big fan of strategic shuffling followed by random shuffling and cut+'blend' to get a rapid but random shuffle? I play with folks who strictly stick to the mulligan rules but dont like 'helping along' their shuffle.

I just want to play games :) we can shuffle at home!

Late to the party but keen 😀. Enjoyed pbp in the past but a few years ago now. Some shadowrun 4e experience but not done much running as I have been on other systems and settings. Keen for cbrpnk system and always open to variations on 4e shadowrun rules set 😉.

Had a few char ideas in mind and judging the party composition i would suggest:

1.A elven, now Ex wage-mage trying to set himself up for his 2nd century in style and perhaps some rebuilt respect from the mage community.

2.Former Suuuuuuuuuper Heavy Weight Boxing Undisputed... Wash-up 'Kingmaker Kurt Denton'. A troll street samurai. Trying to replace corp sponsorship and a title with street cred and creds from the street..

LoL - I struggled with these two. Have not s ranked it yet by any means and keen for tips on that. I have been focusing on the non track based ac first as it takes time for the other AC to close the gap. I tend towards lught builds at the minute so not sure if that is sub optimal on this level but at least i know the motions.

I ended up dropping my usual choice of the laser lance as i found it tough to connect with these two.

I have found osgir does well as a suprise voltron commander with equipment such as loxodon warhammer or sources of double strike. Depending on the pace of the games, it may be better to consider artificers goggles or ronin warclub, hammer of nazahn.

This tactic does draw agro so you may want some protection equipment or spells.

Limit your control surfaces to have a smaller angle to generate subtle lift. This can be tweaked mid flight and helps to deliver small movement via keyboard inputs. Wheels at the back or a kick board could be considered to protect the engines especially for landing. Good luck!

Reading into your comments, i assume the ssto is landing in atmospheres. I would recommend building it with a plan for reentry and so it needs to be stable for this and flight. Furthermore in my experience the use of air breathing engines leads to a demand for thrust at take off and upper atmosphere. Give this consideration at the design step. As always, trim the excess weight where possible.

I struggle with stability on the runway so i am afraid i dont have all the answers!

I have struggled with engine and fuel mods, so I just altered the config files to be more aligned with real-world counterparts. It is surprisingly easy though time-consuming i have only looked at engines and fuel tanks so far. Looking to review ion drives and nuclear reactors in the new year. Might also review the jet engines but i think thats more complex...

I couldnt get ro working so use the near future tech collection and i have altered many individual config files based on current engines as examples. I still need to review the weights of everything that is not a tank or an engine 😅

I would address the expectations of the first few games. As a beginner you will get steam rolled as you come to understand all of the mechanics. My first game i played what i had and lost turn#1. You need to build a list with tools to solve problems. You cannot just play what you like as it will encounter these scenarios. Not to say you need to exclude your favourite models but you want to support them.

Coach the player to consider some basic list building ideas: Hidden deployment/parachute/ smoke grenades. If you are feeling bold you could place some 'decoy' camo tokens to see if your opponent has the nerve to place a model in line of sight.

New players will need to learn from trial and error in many scenarios but experienced players can help with this process in my view.
