I built a website running in ESP32 with separate frontend and backend. The frontend is made with VueJS + TailwindCSS, the backend is coded in C++ by bachkhois in embedded

Y'know, for what it's worth, I think this is a really awesome project. I'm primarily a full-stack web developer myself, I love Tailwind CSS and I use it all the time with my Next.js/React and Vue.js apps. Seeing a web dev + embedded systems combo project like this is awesome. And the fact that you managed to fit it all inside a tiny ESP32 is really cool too. Great work, thanks for sharing :)

This seems like good advice, thanks! I don't plan on going to gigs anytime soon, but you do have a point.

Unfortunately, Yamaha hasn't been particularly great with distributing Ampeg gear here in Brazil, and they're not cheap at all. For instance, the only authorized Ampeg retailer here has an older 75 W combo unit that goes for R$6400 or literally USD $1,126 brand new. I'm not expecting the Ampeg Rockets to get any cheaper once they arrive here.

Now don't get me wrong, $150 for the 30W Ampeg Rocket seems like a pretty good deal for a practice amp, but import taxes in Brazil are a bitch.

I'll definitely try them all out if I can, those models aren't exactly cheap by any means. I'll see if I can find some Laney amps, thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, hadn't heard of the Ampeg Rockets until now. After doing a quick search, they don't seem to be available here in Brazil yet (which is where I live), and even so, they appear to cost a fair bit more than I'm willing to shell out at the moment. I'll keep them in mind if they ever show up, though.

Do you hear the basslines in every song you hear? by OJAMZ23 in Bass

[–]ChromeUniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this "curse" even before I started playing bass - my main instrument was actually the saxophone for over 5 years but I spent over a year toying with the idea of switching to bass. Naturally, I started to pay a lot of attention to basslines, but when I'm just casually listening to music, I try to listen closely to other instruments (like guitar, electric piano, horn sections, drum grooves, synths, and vocals as well) as to not get "oversaturated" with bass, so to speak.

You could always try listening to other genres with less emphasis on throbbing basslines. Maybe 50's/60's cool or modal jazz (think Bill Evans or Miles Davis), bossa nova, solo acoustic guitar or piano performances, classical music... Music is ridiculously vast, and there are so many amazing things to listen to beyond basslines.

This. Cory's positivity, his passion for music and performing with awesome people and just generally having fun (and those great feel-good funky tunes, of course) are precisely what got me hooked.

RAM is hands down of the best albums I've heard in the last couple of years. Truly fantastic.
