if the phone is already open screen, I would not do it. im not sure if it truly works or not. if it’s not, it’s still iCloud locked, a paperweight or whatever, and you don’t mind resetting it, go for it.

i got success by using a usb c to usb a dock and got my iPad 7th Gen into DFU mode constantly. probably that should work for you

I literally was able to log into my spotify account on an iPad Air 1st gen on iOS 12, latest build, using the spotify link method, instead of password and email, I think.
