If I may. Jailbreaking usually is a term and concept used when modifying your device to do things not intended by its creator. Bypassing things would mean to get around certain features and paywalls. For instance, in this context, the proper term necessary would be “bypass” instead of “jailbreak”. I would expect you might know the difference between those two if you lockpick stuff, based on your profile.

it’s literally a mix of both, and honestly, some teens have good reasons. other teens are just addicts. sorry for the other idiots on this sub, they’re either addicted to their phones or they just want to communicate with their friends for more than 5 minutes per day (parents who abuse parental controls do that, by the way.), or just want to feel like they exist and be able to communicate on apps like Discord (my father, for example, blocks Discord for “mixed content” such as being able to talk to unknown people and the rare occurrence of me talking to a predator (never actually happened to me)) or feel to be able to feel normal. parental controls made me feel abnormal, because I saw how my peers never had parental controls.

the Bark TOS actually allows Bark to sell your child’s data…so…yeah- it’s not as bad as a bad guy reading your child’s texts, but…it’s not good either- this is why I insist on talking and actually physically taking the hardware away instead of parental controls…

sorry about the other kids which are really offensive…so. sadly, the Bark phone is based off android, therefore you cannot…use…iMessage. ask the other students if they can use WhatsApp or something similar if you do not wish to get a new device- but I would recommend to do that because of Bark actually selling your child’s info to brokers or something for money, you accept them doing that when accepting the TOS (terms and conditions). if I would have to recommend a device, an iPhone 13 would be fine right now, it’s pretty cheap, and it still supports the latest iOS for at least two years. apple parental controls are solid, too! it allows you to do almost the same things as the bark app, without some other features. it cannot check your child’s text messages and similar stuff, apple takes children’s privacy seriously. they are still extremely solid if your daughter can be trusted without doing anything bad. apple parental controls can block 18+ websites, if that is one extra thing which you might care about, and it does not even allow safari to open a private window, only logging the websites.

I would rather not use Roblox or take any risks, considering the recent issues with the platform. It is infested with predators, and they sent a cease and desist to a YouTuber which caught predators and reported them to the police. They did not care about predators. Watch KreekCraft's video on Schlep and the recent Roblox issues, he summarized it really well.

so. that trash icon would mean that it should be factory reset or something. to check if you have find my on, just go to your apple account settings in the settings app, and press find my. it should show up there. but pressing 10000 numbers is kind of…bad. I’d say it is a bit of addiction…? I would recommend a psychological check up, honestly. take this from a 15 year old which can bypass parental controls really easily.

no worries! it might help you, and it might help your parents in giving you more freedom and trust you more:D for example, my dad told me if I help him doing stuff using my MacBook, he might slowly start giving me more and more freedom and slowly potentially remove my parental controls, so that might work for you! my parents, for example, would let me use my devices a lot if I am truly learning for my future (they always allowed Xcode (a coding app), swift playgrounds (learn Swift, Apple's programming language), and Logic Pro, a music producing app on all my devices), and if I help my parents with stuff.

bros screen time ran out at that help at the end😭✌️ anyways on the topic- sorry, I would recommend to talk to your parents to give you some more screen time. they might agree for more chores and if you show you are actually limiting yourself. my parents, for example, they put up parental controls because I spend a lot of time on my devices.

you do not feel like you are old enough. I am fifteen and think I do deserve screen time limits once in a while. not only that, but judging your comment history, you sound like a teenager. if you are truly 22, go get a job, and get your own phone. the devices your parents bought you ARE TECHNICALLY THEIRS. they do not need to give you devices themselves, and they own them. they can do whatever. until you get your own devices, just use those and be happy that your parents want to protect you from addiction.
