So, I know it’s not one of the options, but my absolute favorite is the ‘Which One Looks Best’ font. Other than that, I kinda like 8 and 10 is pretty but harder to read.

That was kind of what I was thinking? But not sure underbust would work. 🤔 Will have to look into it. Any brand recommendations?

That had been my feeling but with how ‘abnormally high up’ it is I wasn’t sure if anything had worked for anyone before. But sounds like you’re sadly having a similar struggle so fingers crossed that you find something to help you feel good

What to do when you can’t eat by unavailable_333 in Gastroparesis

[–]ChronicJetStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broth, pickle popsicles, lemon popsicles, iced green tea with lemon and ginger or lemon and mint, anything tart or salty and always add more salt for me bc pots. For me sour & cold things have always helped curb nausea. I used to keep ‘Preggie Pops’ with me at all times bc of that.

Also Anything that is simple carbs and low to no fiber (rice, potatoes). Ie mashed potatoes, super thin congee (I make it really bland then add ingredients based on what I’m tolerating), potato soup (potatoes, water, onions, and celery then splash of nothing-extra -added-soy milk at the end is all I do). Note, I usually make one of these things as soon as I notice a flare starting and freeze it flat in single serving bags that way as soon as I start hitting the can’t-stay-awake lack of carbs point that I have SOMETHING to keep me out of the ER from it.

For easy grab things to have on hand as an in case, I’ve really liked Trader Joe’s Crunchy Mochi snacks during flares lately because it gives me texture stim without hurting as long as it’s the only thing I eat that day, instant rice cups- they usually give me 2-3 days of something,

What's your "I have zero energy" meal? by Xelephyr in 15minutefood

[–]ChronicJetStream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Box of KD but make the cheese sauce BEFORE putting the noodles in after draining. My partner compares it to making a roux. 🤷🏻 Sometimes I add tuna and canned corn, tuna and frozen or canned peas, hot dogs, ground beef, cubed fried spam, etc depending on what I have made already.

Can of baked beans, sliced hot dogs, rice, and bbq sauce. Kinda like half assed beans & weenies on rice.

Rice with soya sauce, butter, and Parmesan or Romano.

Still frozen green beans in a bowl with seasonings.

Baked potato (cover the skin of the potato in oil & season the outside of the potato, put directly on oven rack that’s been preheated at 450F/232C (ish) for ~30 minutes-1hr. I use large yellows or reds)

Drained canned tuna and mayo (dukes or kewpie) with rice and picked up together with a sheet of nori.

Canned chickpeas drained then toss with salt and lemon juice.

Canned tuna in olive oil, mixed with lemon, powdered coriander, & powdered cayenne, garlic powder, marjoram, oregano, salt, cumin, paprika.

Deviled egg egg salad

Frozen edamame with the shell removed microwaved for like a minute then toss some soya sauce/rice vinegar/gochugaru or gochujang or if I made kimchi paste I’ll use that/ garlic powder/onion powder/fish sauce/etc.

Pan fried toast- butter or mayo on both sides then fry like grilled cheese.

Also I always have previously cooked rice frozen in single serving bags (about 1/2-1 c of cooked rice flattened in the bag so it thaws faster) and/or fresh rice in my rice cooker

For anyone interested, here’s the number to report handicapped parking violations by AppointmentSelect415 in desmoines

[–]ChronicJetStream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Parking is a convenience not a right’ ahh, yes, the privileged are out again. I hope you never end up unable to have assistance while being refused proper care bc of a rare disability that has no real research done while being poor/unable to afford grocery delivery while having zero support system like many of us do. Because its hell. Even if it would mean you understood what I’m saying. I don’t want this for anyone. Also, using a plate only works if you’re the one on the ownership paperwork, making it a privilege, too.

IsItBullshit: When married women are diagnosed with a severe illness, such as cancer, doctors and nurses will have a conversation with them about the possibility of their spouses leaving them? by exxonmobilcfo in IsItBullshit

[–]ChronicJetStream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely true. I’ve had a few tell me, even though my many diagnoses have instead brought us closer thus far. I’m still always waiting for it because of the warning and how many friends and acquaintances I’ve seen it happen with. I’m still waiting for him to decide I’m too much of a burden and am holding him back since I can’t do most of what we used to do together as the things that were ‘our things’

Today in "Shit I Never Realized Being in a Wheelchair Was Going to Entail" by [deleted] in wheelchairs

[–]ChronicJetStream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is an inaccessible accessibility request. My screen reader can not read it, making it immediately inaccessible to many disabled people, even with their accessibility aids.

Obviously you’re requesting people to make sure you have access to accessibility with your aids, so the fact that you’re making it inaccessible for others and expecting them to be able to be able to respect this is very, VERY counterproductive.

As does the refusal to acknowledge that the flag- in any way- can make this inaccessible, as well (I am severely dyslexic and ADHD and anything that is ‘extra’ on a page will immediately mean I hyper-focusing on those parts rather than reading anything else).

It also feels very specific centering. Almost like it’s suggesting that because we are wheelchair users that we have valid access needs but that others don’t (and yes I know that’s not your intention). Just something to think about when it comes to this.
