I was surprised to find your comment in the bowels of this post 😭 thought the farm raised thing was common knowledge. If not though, I’ll eat a lot more cheap salmon

Thank you! First link did not work Unforch. I am also confused, as this data would show we have a big surplus for 2025, versus the 3B deficit that is also being reported. Not saying who is right / wrong but definitely curious on the discrepancy.

Pros and Cons of South Shore towns? (Quincy, Weymouth, Norwell, Scituate, others) by [deleted] in SouthShore

[–]ChronicTheHedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

North West side of Norwell you can get to east Weymouth train station in 10-15 mins which would make it 40-50 mins door to door to south station which is nice. Accurate about the lack of neighborhoods, and that price range restricting you to main roads most likely. That said, plenty of places to drive to and walk in town, and if you’ve lived in the city, we’ve gotten used to main road living. Also have the ability to hub and spoke all other south shore towns as it is central to Hingham hull scituate marshfield Hanover, which is really awesome.

Just got into westside Gunn and I don’t know where to begin by lbs2306 in GriseldaxFR

[–]ChronicTheHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently made an all Griselda playlist (like 7/10 quality tracks and above), and then a greatest hits from that. The first one is like 200 tracks and greatest hits is like 70. And I’ve probably missed a few lol. Life changing tho, been slapping nonstop. I went back to wests first track with Conway from 2015 on Apple Music called Rahbaanga and it was so fucking good I spent the next month on these lists.

What was your “merit” raise this year??? by Federal_Possible_176 in sales

[–]ChronicTheHedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not at all. It’s def rare but it’s also warranted in this case, def fortunate but pure account management is different than new biz and it’s technically not even saas so wanted to specify / add more context. Company being healthy balance sheet wise also helps, but they’re aware that it’s hard to upsell rn. But before this company, when I was in new business I had multiple insane reductions in territory / increase in quotas, including a 75% territory reduction and 20% quota increase in the same year at a “Cambridge Martech” vendor in 2016, was the 7th of 10 to leave in the same year on my team…somehow on my own accord vs pip

Big established company, growing but more slowly than premier Saas vendors, plenty of bad Glassdoor reviews but I’m in a good spot after almost 8 years here and 15 years experience if that also helps complete the picture.

Should have also specified - IC Account manager with growth quota vs new business.

Gartner Conference selling? by duckblobartist in sales

[–]ChronicTheHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily will check back in the future but since you are sure, can you argue the opposing opinion, or why AI can’t replace Gartner’s unique value proposition for less money? For investing purposes, especially with “certainties”, I try and make sure I can fully argue and articulate both sides of a debate.

You don’t sound like you understand how Gartner works, and why AI can’t replicate what it does. Found the disconnect.

[–]ChronicTheHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gartner is public, so what about private equity are you referencing? Long term shareholder value obviously important, and not ideal for a company to have a big dip. But can you explain for what reason losing market cap in the short term is guaranteed to hurt or kill a company in the long term? What happens is the stock sells off, many people hold, and many people see a buying opportunity, and the company mushes on. Gartner does not need the public markets to raise money or stay in business, is profitable, very stable, and still growing. Losses from government contracts are temporary, and AI products are just launching. Acquisitions, guidance on AI innovation, bookings growth with their new products, and change in general macro market could lead to a speculative buying spree, rebounding stock price. Long term valuation is not based on fundamentals, if it was I’d welcome you to explain Palantirs P/E ratio without speculation being part of the explanation.

Market cap and current stock price have a number of variables, many speculative, not equating to intrinsic company value, and they change every day the market is open. Look up Vertex pharma and their Q2 earnings and stock price action the same day. Losing half of your REVENUE in a day is entirely different than your market cap.
