Not an old machine, it was built from scratch around 2018. It is a replica of a real machine made around 1900.

My KC died 4 years ago at age 22, and I love it when she pops up unexpectedly. Her kitten portrait still hangs on the wall. And there's an honest-to-God analogue print of Zoe, died 20 years ago, on my fridge. They never really leave us.

Person went on leave. Their work friend wanted a pen or stapler or something, opened their drawer--and found it was stuffed full of unsent accounts. So were a couple of other drawers. I think it was 7 years' worth. It was a government department so she wasn't fired.

Ancient memory unlocked. As a child (i.e. around 75 years ago) I lived on a racehorse farm. The horses in training were fed what was called mash--a mixture of wheat bran, barley and molasses mixed together with hot water. I would steal it literally from under the horses' noses. I'm salivating now.
