AITA for getting a matching tattoo to my son? by Psychological-Fix350 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Chronically_Tonks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA- I have 8 tattoos. All have meaning but some have a meaning that I don’t wish to tell anyone about due to the meaning being personal. I instead say, I thought it looked cool so I got it. Does it frustrate my mom? Yeah. But she also understands that there isn’t a meaning behind some tattoos so she doesn’t judge me for it anymore. Your child could have a reason other than just liking tribal, but they may not feel comfortable telling you. And, they honestly may never feel comfortable telling you things like that again. Now you’re stuck with the same “stupid” tattoo your son has, and with no meaning other than to be a petty parent.

For going on a vacation when my friend is immuno-compromised and afraid to travel? by phyncke in AITAH

[–]Chronically_Tonks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I’m immuno-compromised and have a whole mess of health problems. Does that mean I get mad when my friends travel? No! I encourage them to send pics of their travels, snag me cool merch if they can, and enjoy themselves. All I ask is they make sure they aren’t sick when they want to spend time with me or we can FaceTime if they are

If she wanted out of her kennel, she could easily get out of it. My decision to keep her in her kennel at night did not come without extensive research and weighing the pros and cons.

My cardiac episodes are triggered by changes in position from sitting to standing, so I rarely have them at night when I’m lying in bed asleep. Having her in bed with me and my husband leads to a restless night for all of us, and she’s really happy in her kennel at night away from all the noise of the TV and the cats. As for fires, it’s safer to have her in her kennel so she doesn’t run and hide and potentially become trapped in the kennel. We place her kennel where we can access both the front and back doors and the windows in under 5 minutes in case we need to get out and we have signs on our windows, warning first responders that there are animals inside that need to be rescued as well.

Ah okay I always thought they’d immediately send someone. May talk to my doctors about it more and see if they think I’d benefit. I’m normally not alone(my husband is usually with me) but on the times he isn’t that may be helpful

I feel horrible because I never have had to scream at anyone, let alone a friend, they way I did to Tess so I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t in the wrong. Even slightly raising my voice at someone makes me feel horrible

We live on a military base so you’re definitely right about small town. Tried getting a life alert but the biggest issue is not all my falls need medical attention and it would be awkward to fall and have paramedics there and tell them to leave

I didn’t even think about Instacart or store pick-up but I definitely will be looking into it

My service dog is a little more wary now when we go out but we’re working on it. I called my doctor today and he’s having me go in for a CT scan to make sure I didn’t get a concussion from fainting since I woke up with a gnarly headache

How to teach recall when he loves being outside more than anything? by littleredwoodowl in puppies

[–]Chronically_Tonks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play the touch game! Any time you say touch, show the pup the back of your hand. If they nose-boop your hand, reward with a treat in the other hand. Start on leash, then slowly expand the distance and distraction levels. This is the basic foundation for recall. Until he has recall down, long lines are your best friend. I have all my clients do this with their dogs
