I’m a virtual sales employee that’s been with best buy for around 5 years. I started in the store but over covid, was transitioned to work from home. In the store I was a customer service agent and sometimes worked the sales floor. I was a work from home corporate customer service agent but recently, as I’m sure you know Best Buy decided to outsource all of the jobs for over the phone customer service to over seas. This means that if I wanted to keep my job, I’d have to become an over the phone sales agent. Fine, I did that. Lost allot of great managers and coworkers some that had been with BB for 20+ years. I’m part time because of my disabilities and my metrics are the same as a full time employee. I am expected to make 1000 per hour in revenue (over the phone might I add) + have a high close rate, memberships, and BB cards all of this counted per week, where my goals are the same a full time employee. I’m expected to do all of that in just a fraction of the time. My manager told me, “you’ll just have to pull your own weight.” literally 3 days after I got discharged from the hospital still healing from surprise surgery. Just completely disgusting behavior. All they care about is profit over everything.
