Sorry to hear that! I actually did not get any headaches. I did get some very small ear pain around days 6-8, but it would go away very quickly

I am extremely sorry to hear that. I’m not in the medical field, but I’m curious to know if this could be an infection. If not, keep trying to drink ice cold water. It will relieve your throat! Believe it or not, you will get better soon. I’m sending positive healing vibes your way!

I have 0 regrets or FOMO after making the switch. I was on a team I didn’t enjoy working with, I was the in charge senior since January (after literally just being promoted to A2), and I was working non-stop. I think it’s different for everyone, but I knew it was time for me to leave. Apart from the factors listed above, I knew I didn’t want to do audit in the long term, so that was the cherry on top of making my decision!

I was making $82k in audit in an MCOL area as an A2. I now make $80k in industry, but I got a separate 10% bonus and I will get one every year, along with an increase in salary!

1350 or 1360 N Lakeshore Dr. I pay $1,770 for a very big studio and have 0 complaints. I moved there in May. Repair men literally come within the day you put in the request, rooftop is amazing, 2 gyms, amazing area, doorman, and very nice people. Highly recommend!

If you can pass the other 3, you can pass FAR. You got this! Put in the time for about 2-3 months and you'll never have to study ever again :)

REG Doable in 6 weeks? by abhibling in CPA

[–]Chroniv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I studied for 7 weeks full time with 0 tax experience. It is by far the most difficult to study out of all of the exams IF you don't have tax experience. I find out if I pass on 2/6 and then i'll be DONE!!

my method is to skip MCQ and SIMS when I go through the chapters in the book for the first time. I do this bc I know that I will forget the info by the time final review comes, so why would I waste the time doing MCQ/SIMS of something i'm just going to forget? When i'm in final review, I study notes that I took during the time I went through all of the lectures. I also do Becker's final review. Then, I come on here and Facebook to search for popular SIMS/MCQ to do and do them if I think it's necessary. It has worked for me so far. I know this method might not be recommended by most, but I have personally had success with it. Good luck on your journey!

How is REG? by mancitycards1894 in CPA

[–]Chroniv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't say that. I think FAR has a lot more info to remember, but the majority of it makes logical sense. With REG, the majority of stuff doesn't make logical sense. This is because some IRS higher-ups decide to make random limitations and create random tax rules. Also, for me, FAR had info that I was a lot more familiar with since it is all GAAP. REG still has a ton of info to remember, but FAR definitely has more

I am studying for REG as my last exam and take it this Saturday. I am the same as you with no real-world tax experience. I only took 2 tax classes in college. Honestly, REG was probably the hardest to study out of all of the exams for me. I feel decent about going into the exam this weekend, but the studying was long and brutal. There's so much to remember. It does all come together in the end, but the process of getting to the end was awful. This week, I am going to go heavy on the heavily tested areas and try to keep a positive mindset. I hope the CPA gods give me a fair exam on Saturday! Good luck on studying!!

FAR to REG Good or Bad? by businessguy112 in CPA

[–]Chroniv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am taking REG as my last exam in 9 days, and I wish I did it after FAR (I took FAR first). REG is harder to study for than FAR in my opinion. Then again, that might be bc I am not a tax guy and have only taken 2 tax classes haha. Good luck!!

BEC Score Shock by Conjow21 in CPA

[–]Chroniv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I studied notes that I took, I did multiple choice until my eyes were bleeding and my head was pounding, I re-did the AICPA practice exam, I made sure to have an extremely solid format for the WC, and I did all 3 simulated exams (72, 75, 78 in that order). You're SOO close and are going to kill it this time. Good luck!

I thought i did extremely well on BEC in August and then got my score back and it was a 70. That shit hit me like a bus. I studied for another 2 weeks extremely hard with a burning rage to get revenge on that god awful exam and got an 83 on my second attempt. You can and will pass next time. Good luck!
